Going left hasn't worked. Defund the police lost by 15 points in a very very blue city. Virginia was just smoked by the GOP. All of the left candidates lost in NYC. NJ is a goddam tossup.

I can agree with toning down the "woke" stuff but there HAS to be movement on economic policies otherwise it's all culture war stuff that Republicans will always clean up on. Straight up, these losses are on Manchin and Sinema holding everything up.

If the Dem’s lose the Virginia and/or NJ governors races (still a big if imho), it will have nothing to do with Congress’ action or inaction. All politics is local. They will have lost because of issues pertinent to that state, and the individual candidates.
