2. Lighten up
3. If you are a UMaine fan why are you sullying yourself on a DIII Board?
4. You seem to have as much of a sense of humor as a rock - most people get my sense of humor
5. People who post in public should be literate, especially on a board that is oriented towards a college sport. (Of course, DI is more of a professional sport)
6. Lighten up
Prof, I could say a lot of things, but I'll condense them all into a single question: would you have publicly corrected a stranger's usage
in person? From what I've inferred about your persona via your posts, I would venture to guess that wouldn't have done that in a million years. That sort of thing is generally considered to be rude, and I'm quite sure that you're rarely rude when dealing with people face-to-face... I could be wrong about you, but I'd bet I'm not, and I'm of the opinion that participants in internet forums should adhere to the reasonable standards of reciprocal respect that are expected in real life.
As far as my love of D-3 hockey, suffice it to say that I haven't missed a UC home-game since the program's inception, and I've seen a good many of their games on the road as well. Sure, I'm a huge Maine fan too, but there's plenty of room in my heart for both schools; I like apples as well as oranges.
If a perfect-literacy requirement was in place for these boards, you might be the only one posting, and how amusing would
that be, even to you? We are all just exchanging opinions and information as best we can. Most of the posts I read here are intelligible enough, as fraught with grammatical errors as they might be.
Having said the above, rest assured that I've learned a lot about how D-3 works from your posts, most of which eschew the red pen and tend to enlighten us stinkards, and I hope to read more of them in the future.
Enjoy your season.
