ECAC West 2011-2012

Re: ECAC West 2011-2012

Interesting match up at the Stafford this weekend as Nuemann (NR) travels to Plattsburgh (4). I've always thought that Nuemann was only a player or two away from making some noise in the West. Should be a good series that allows both teams to gauge themselves against the rest of the field.

Things don't get any easier for the Knights as RIT comes knocking on Nov 18/19.

Regardless...I wish Nuemann all the luck in the world over these two particular weekends! :D

And next year, you get a new team - Stevenson U (Baltimore). They just hired their first head coach:

Oddly, that's the only article I can find on this topic. USCHO hasn't covered it, and even Stevenson's web site has only the one mention of the women's ice hockey team. No information on where they'll play or what league they'll apply to, if any. Surprisingly little info for a team that's just a year away.

Re: ECAC West 2011-2012

When the schedules came out and I saw Neumann@Plattsburgh 11/4-11/5 a couple of weeks before the Polar Bears host the Cardinals up in Watson on 11/19 (tough way to open the season, but great to see Bowdoin beef up the non-conference games), I figured an early season run on the Grand Isle ferry over to Plattsburgh was a wonderful idea. It even still appeared possible when it developed that the Editor's parents would be in visiting from the Kootenays. However, the Editor is now totally booked tomorrow (day job: massage therapist) and instead of a trip to Plattsburgh today, I have a trip to Providence to get the folks up to the airport. Webcast? Ducky on WIRY?
BEST OF LUCK to the players and coaches. Look forward to seeing you Cardinal faithful (I know it is a bit of a trek, but Watson is awesome, not to mention the lobster, scenery and Downeast hospitality) in Brunswick on the 19th. oh, and GO U BEARS!!!

Re: ECAC West 2011-2012

U from BC ?

My significant other, a/k/a The Editor, grew up in the Grand Forks-Nelson area, went to school in Vancouver and only came to the US because of her then husband's taking a job down here. I am from NY. We originally met at a Williams-Manhattanville game 11/25/03 (M-ville 7 Williams 4). Strange how life works out.

Certainly big of you to remember the score...:)
