ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Someone needs to tell whoever is producing the TV feed that their graphics are not only ugly but downright distracting. They hang down almost 30% from the top of the screen, so low that when the camera zooms in they actually clip the players heads at times.

Embarrassing production quality...

Complete opposite of the WCHA game between St. Cloud and Wisconsin though Fox College Sports has a little more money than B2 Television.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

1-0 Cornell
4:27, 2nd

Locke Jillson creates space for himself at the left circle then rips a nifty shot top-shelf stick side that bounces out so fast that the red light never went on. There were no Brown defenders near him.

True. I realize B2 is on a low budget and we're lucky probably to be seeing this game at all, but you can do better with low-budget graphics than the horrible looking banner they have. Sorry to sound like a chronic whiner but it's REALLY annoying to look at.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Cornell's Dan Nicholls is robbed on the door step with a one-time bid from just outside the paint. He gets a face wash from Harry Zolniercyzk in a scrum afterwards.

Officially on the Cornell goal...
Jillson (Esposito) 15:35

I've seen worse on the NHL Network from an AHL game between Rochester and Hershey. The graphics and the hard camera made it look like the local high school A/V club was broadcasting the game. Just god awful. And that was a Time Warner SportsNet broadcast I believe.

End 2
Cornell 1 Brown 0

Scoring
Locke Jillson (John Esposito) - 15:35

Shots
Cornell 18 Brown 14
-Brown had just three shots in the second period.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

I'm sure if my road roomate, a prep school friend of Jeff's, was watching the game today, he'd have already shot the TV screen out.

I was wrong. The announcer is saying "BOO-vee-oh". Totally leaving out the "n". Oh well.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Nice interview with Brown captain Aaron Volpatti between 2nd and 3rd periods. He was pretty clear-eyed in assessing the game and what Brown needs to do, I thought.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Brendon Nash called for CTH Elbowing after throwing a body check well away from the puck. It probably should have been interference, either way it's a penalty.

1-0 Cornell
15:00, 3rd

Discussion by the announcers prior to the penalty revolved around Mike Schafer's facial hair.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Aaron Volpatti negates the Bruno power play by taking a slashing call in the offensive zone.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

That was fast.

Esposito scores in a 4-on-4 situation with a rush down the left wing. Quick shot, low stick side.

2-0 Cornell
13:20 remaining in the third.
