ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Greg Madden, Dan Fridgen and Bob Ahlfeld on the call for B2 Television. Both semifinals are being shown live today on the NHL Network.

Apparently Time Warner was unavailable this year.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Brown to the power play first after Zolnierczyk goes down following an open-ice hit from Keir Ross about a minute into the period.

Good Cornell-sized contingent located on the hard camera side of the rink. Not so much on the side the camera is facing.

Someone might want to get Mr. Madden some pronunciations.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

First media timeout. 0-0.

Brown controlling puck possession for the most part and outshooting Cornell 4-1 according to LiveStats.

Cornell should be on a power play though a clear hold in the Cornell defensive zone went uncalled.

*Edit* As a type that, Brown's Scott Van der Linden goes for for CTH RGH in the neutral zone.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Offensive zone penalty on Cornell's Dan Nicholls for charging. Borderline penalty at best.

0-0
11:06 1st

Clemente made several good saves on Cornell's power play chance.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Another TV timeout.
0-0
7:26 remaining, 1st

Brown is carrying the play so far and Cornell hasn't had any good looks in even-strength action. Lots of physical play both ways.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Cornell with a light flurry out of the time out and Brown responds with two great chances after a poor clearing attempt. The best chance was a wrist shot from the high slot by Jordan Pietrus.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

brown looking impresive , outplaying cornell, the big red has 2 shots on net with exception of power play

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

With the warm weather today is it possible to tell how the ice is holding up?

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Cornell is called for too-many men on the ice. Third power play for Brown.

0-0

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

End 1
0-0.

Brown will have 42 seconds left on the power play to start the second. Shots are 11-6 Bruno according to LiveStats.

Brown 0x2 PP, Cornell 0x1

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Except for not scoring I have to believe Brown likes the way this game is going so far.

We came close a couple of times.

Dear Mr. Announcer: It's "BOO-vih-no" (Jeff Buvinow, #14 for Brown), not "Boo-no".

At least they're pronouncing Colin Greening's first name correctly this year. Though, hearing "Colon" Greening was fairly humorous at first.

I'm sure if my road roomate, a prep school friend of Jeff's, was watching the game today, he'd have already shot the TV screen out.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Oh gosh, flipping over to the St. Cloud-Wisconsin game, an SCSU player just stumbled head first into the boards trying to get to a loose puck.

Second period underway.

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Wow, Jillson or "Jill-ise-on" just got his eggs scrambled behind the Brown net and it went uncalled.

Physical play has picked up another notch and Cornell is starting to forecheck a lot harder and play with more energy.

0-0
16:15, 2nd

Re: ECAC Semifinal 1: Cornell - Brown

Brown captain Jordan Pietrus goes off for hooking.

0-0
11:06 left, 2nd

Brown 0x3 PP, Cornell 0x1 PP - only the second PP for the Red.

Cornell has played a much better period and the ice seems like it was been tilted downwards at Clemente.
