I feel like you ask me this every year :D. The graphs are made in GraphPad Prism, which I have access to through my lab. I am actually starting to learn R for the new lab I'm in so I'm going to try and rework everything in that for the future (like when my license expires).

(Also those viz are incorrect since they include both bothman entries, I should fix that.)

Holy wow these scores are low! We have improved significantly and sgt12 has taken the lead. The bounty of riches hasn't really reached the Random Number, but there's time.

The standings changed, but sgt12's score did not! The Fan Average took a little hit but we're overall still doing pretty well. The Random Number has a firm grip on last overall, but I have joined Earl_Leatherland in the worst of the real people position.

We collectively took a bit of a step back this week, but iowabasedtraveler was able to jump up into first place as sgt12 dropped to a tie for third. The party in human last place grows again as Bronco Hockey Fan has joined to make a three-way tie above the RNG.

Wow, up to tenth place! Obviously must be due to the picks Jenny made in our joint effort. This season so far has just not been running very true to form.

All of our scores are ridiculously good right now. sgt12 holds the lead with what would be the lowest score for a winner ever. The Fan Average is so on-point that it would have won all but two years of the contest, and even our worst (human) score would have won two years. Really this means that the season has been pretty predictable so far, but it's shocking to what extent we've kind of nailed it.

A little bit of a backslide, but sgt12 still leads with a historically low score. That said, we're just now reaching the halfway point of the ECAC schedule (65 games played, 67 to go), so there's a whole lot of time for our fortunes to change.

Some bad luck for sgt12, who improved this week, but not nearly as much as iowabasedtraveler, who now sits atop the standings. Meanwhile, Earl Leatherland is holding onto last place (among humans).

Further proof that the ECAC has sadly become a predictable league. There are weeks in the ECAC Pick 'em contest where several contestants get 2/3 of their picks correct.

I'm not going to disagree that this season has obviously been pretty predictable, but isn't it expected behavior that an informed observer could do a little bit better than random chance when picking winners?

Thanks, Lugnut, for the resounding endorsement. I’m finally leading the contest and on my way to winning the cash prize and people be like ‘this is an easy year to pick winners-n-standings’. Talk about a whine made with sour grapes.

The "predictability" of the conference really amounts to the fact that there are only 2 teams between .333 and .607.

Last season there were 7.

The league has bifurcated. Perhaps it will melt back together during the second half.

After a few weeks of lurking, sgt12 has once again reclaimed the top spot as we enter February. Also the seven-way tie fell apart, but we do have a five-way for 13th.

Well uhh, this is weird. Despite 12 games being played, the standings did not move at all. As such, nothing changed in our little contest. sgt12 remains atop the standings, the RNG remains at the bottom, and we can just forget this weekend even happened.
