Re: ECAC Pick The Standings 2011-12

Jeeez! That's saying something coming from a Cornell faithful..:)

Unlike fans of some ECAC teams, I can be objective about my school's prospects and still be faithful. We finished 4th last year and it's pretty competitive at the top again, so I think a 4th place BYE is a reasonable prediction.

Re: ECAC Pick The Standings 2011-12

When deciding what order I was going to pick for my standings I looked at two different averages that I thought were pretty interesting. The first was the average standing of each team over the past 3 years (because the seniors now where freshmen then) and the second was the average standing over the past 6 years (because prior to the 05-06 season q-pac was not in the league and Vermont was). I thought it might be interesting to see how these to averages did in the competition. I will provide them here and vicb can decide whether to include them or not.

Averages over past six years:
<table border="1">
<tr>
<th>Team</th>
<th>2010-11</th>
<th>2009-10</th>
<th>2008-09</th>
<th>2008-07</th>

<th>2006-05</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>cornell </td><td> 4 </td><td> 2 </td> <td> 2 </td> <td> 4 </td> <td> 4 </td> <td> 3 </td> <td>3.166666667</td></tr>
<tr><td>yale </td> <td> 2 </td><td> 1 </td> <td> 1 </td> <td> 6 </td><td> 8 </td><td> 11 </td> <td> 4.833333333</td></tr>

Re: ECAC Pick The Standings 2011-12

Hmm.... I probably should write down my picks, I know that by the time 2/26/2012 rolls around I will have completely forgotten that I even entered this 'contest' in the first place!

(of course, after I write down my picks, I will lose the paper on which I wrote them.....;)
