Egad. I just put numbers 1-12 in a figurative hat and pulled them out randomly (using MATLAB's randperm function, which gives you a random permutation of a set of numbers). The first number in the list goes to the first team in alphabetical order, second to the second, and so on. No need to randomize all the games - the sum of random games is still random, so just radnomize the final result. Takes about 30 seconds that way.Alphabetical will also pick Yale to finish last.
Just out of curiosity, how are you doing your random number generator? I used to do one that picked game outcomes and totaled up pf/pa and used tiebreakers and all that nonsense.
I was in grad school. I had a lot of free time.
