Ecac East Playoffs

Re: Ecac East Playoffs

I agree, but in the past NEC has always been a tough opponent for Norwich in the ECAC Playoffs...Plus, Norwich plays (for the most part) pretty close games and if they don't get the bounces??? I still think Norwich will take this tourney but I don't think it's going to be a cakewalk...Skidmore will get screwed over by the refs: this is just a fact for some teams in the ECAC EAST...

I've heard that refs have it in for Skidmore. Why is that?

Re: Ecac East Playoffs

Release from Norwich:

Cadet hockey fans who attend Friday afternoon’s ECAC Men’s East Tournament semifinal contest between Norwich and New England College will get a special treat as Vermont gold medalist Hannah Kearney will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck prior to the 4 p.m. faceoff.

Kearney, who was born in Hanover, N.H., but now resides in Norwich, Vt., is a two time Olympian who earned Team USA’s first Gold Medal at the 2010 Olympic Games. After a disappointing finish in the 2006 Torino Games, Kearney has made it to the top of Freestyle Skiing.

Kearney’s gold in 2010 is the first gold medal for the U.S. women since Donna Weinbrecht won women’s moguls at the Albertville 1992 Olympics. Along with her Olympic accomplishments, Kearney has participated in eight World Cups, winning seven events. She has won gold and bronze in three World Championships.

You've heard? Really? Skidmore is 65th out of 72 Div. III teams with 12.2 penalty minutes per game. Not sure how that translates to refs having it out for them. If you'd like to share any information you have we'd all love to hear it.

Getting screwed by the refs doesn't mean a ton of penalties called: it's when they are called and what is let go against them...Or maybe a missed icing call...In fact calling too many penalties on them is too obvious...

Re: Ecac East Playoffs

Ok there smart ***...Norwich beat NEC 6-2: Skidmore 5-3 and tied Babson 3-3: those are the the teams in the tourney: that's pretty much what I was getting at  ....You are the type of "fan" that gives Norwich a bad name: I thought most of them were gone form this board but there is always one lurking... Did my Pick'em picks upset you that much wonder boy...

By the way: Carragher should have been Player of the Year over Rick Cleaver(I Still would like justification on that one) ....

No, actually I was relieved when I saw you picked against Norwich again this week, you pick against em every week and we'v done ok so far. It's obvious your a Wick hater and thats ok, but to poke at em every chance you get on this board and pick against every week is just stupid. Your bias makes it impossible to take you seriously. Your ridiculous comments above make it look like you are "lurking". No need to respond.

I don't hate Norwich: I hate Castleton...You look ridiculous looking up every pick em I have done...I have a ton a respect for Norwich and the fan base they have...It's Always fun to gun/pick against the team on top of the hill...I poke fun at Norwich but I am never serious, I though I had won most of the Norwich posters over and I think I bring a little more to the boards than just ra ra go "wick"...

I understand the $$, but I'd rather donate $100+ or whatever to the school than pay $6.99 to watch Fastnet. Who knows where your credit card info goes after you sign up?

Exactly...Well I will be listening on the radio and watching the NESCAC playoffs on video should be a fun weekend...

With good reason, IIRC.
Hopefully, you will be at Nfld for next year's reg. season game, and a meet can be arranged.

For the record, I think most of us get that. It's the same reason that I snipe at Oswego/Elmira fans.

Re: Ecac East Playoffs

Does anyone know if Norwich's "high profile" western transfer goaltender will be the starter for the East playoffs and NCAA's? Klingensmith has had a great year, but everyone knows there's always somebody better out there, and I mean this western transfer is really "high profile" so it's kinda like a late Christmas present.

Direct any questions on the matter to CROSBYNU63, he knows all the details on transferring goaltenders...

So far as I know, there were no transfers of any kind this year, much less a western goaltender.

I thought that transfers could only join the team at the start of the second semester. Maybe someone could explain transfer rules again?

Re: Ecac East Playoffs

What ever you are smoking you should give it up..no transfer here. You must be referring to the NESCAC tender that was going to Norbert but ended up at Nuemann. You will have to ask him why.
