ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

He was right to complain for the ejection. That is a dirty hit .

As someone who hates both teams here, that hit was garbage. You absolutely cannot do that, and if this were the NHL, he'd be getting a call from DoPS.

Surprised? Chip McDonald is the referee.

Edit: And now Vesey with a cheapshot.

With both teams already in ncaas, i am wondering what this game could devolve into

Won't the ecac suspend him for next game. Based on what has happened this year (including O'Gara suspension) and now having watched that would seem highly likely. Especially with QU player out for rest of game

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Does the ECAC have the ability to suspend esposito for a game in NCAA tourney? Because with Anas hurt, that's exactly what should happen.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Six HE teams in the tourney, I guess the OOC win percentage didn't matter too much. Yale is slowly sinking, but hope remains.

The same very same ref who was horrible in the second RPI-Harvard playoff game. Not that the outcome would have likely been different but he is an absolute embarassment - a true disciple of Paul Stewart. He must be a graduate of the Vince McMahon School of Refereeing.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

I can't say I was terribly impressed with the officiating (shocking, I know). While not trying to sound like sour grapes, it just seemed Q was getting the benefit of the calls and non-calls all weekend. I remember one Harvard player getting his stick whacked out of his hand just as he was about to take a shot and never got a call. I also remember a trip that happened 10 feet in front of Garteig that also wasn't called. Those are just two instances, but various events during Friday's games showed me that the officiating took a major step back...again.

That said, I still think Esposito's hit on Anas should have warranted a game misconduct, at minimum. Don't 5-minute majors usually (automatically?) come with a game misconduct or a DQ?

Not automatically under any circumstances. Although the EC$$ does have a tendency to "look past" dirty hits by certain teams, such as Tironese's SEI.
