EC will be fine

I just wanted to make sure that nobody thinks I was criticizing other EC fans on the other thread that was removed. I just wanted to put a positive light on things.
Again, the ECAC-West is a tough conference and we are still in good shape. I am confident that our Coaches and players will overcome this adversity and finish the season strong.
JConnor, please don't think I was implying you were being critical. That wasn't what I was getting at. I just try to be positive and soothe some of the concerns that have arisen.
I don't feel that anyone has thrown the team under the bus. It's just natural that adversity combined with past history can possibly become a psychological hurdle. I'm sure, though, that the other EC fans on the forums have confidence as well that we have a good group of guys. It will be a challenge as Neumann and Hobart have regained last season's form and look like they will finish strong.
Anyone else who feels like any EC fans are being critical, I don't think that was the intent either.
JConnor, Prez, smbenny, and others who post on the forums are great fans and I know their long-time support is appreciated.

Re: EC will be fine

Well said. I let my frustrations get the better of me. I agree that this team has something most others before them did not. I will support them no matter what but, I will criticize bad play.

Note: I removed the thread myself not a Moderator.

Re: EC will be fine

EC has a great group of guys ..they have very strong seniors with 2 all Americans in Masters and Tuttle and 2 very tough hard playing defensemen seniors in Gamble and Moore ..don't count them out ..the other members of the team all know what it's going to take to recover from this blip .. there power play will be clicking i hope and the rest of their game offense and defence back in step to take it to Manhattenville this weekend and grow stronger into the playoffs ..I for one will be cheering them on this weekend and onward ...look for some great hits and tough play "the boys are ready" They can beat anyone in D3 on any given night ..now let's sit back cheer them on and enjoy ...

Hey ballgame! How the heck are ya? How is the hockey going?

Playoffs start today! But having 3 young kids makes it tough to find the time. Ive got a 4 years, 1 year old, and a newborn!
Think Ill focus on getting my 4 year old on skates learning how to read a 2-1-2 forecheck. Identify when its a trap or a passive 1-2-2. You know, standard stuff :D

You still with the local Flint team?

Funny, now Al is like me! Alumni

Ma'ville v EC

Ma'ville v EC

- Pitiful crowd tonight ... maybe 800.
- EC scored a shorty tonight. First since god knows when.
- Grady seemed to be doing most of the coaching tonight!? Interesting for someone who's retired. Levinthal was relegated to his apoplectic whining about missed calls, and disgusted gestures when his defense screwed up.
- Biggest difference in the teams is Ma'ville is big and strong enough to send only 1 or 2 into the corners and always leave 1 or 2 circling the net. EC sends 2 or 3 into the fray, leaving 0 or 1 to receive the puck. Ma'ville's 1st goal was a result of EC having too many in the corner, not enough to patrol the zone.
- While big and strong, Valiants seemed to be gassed by 13 - 14 minutes into each period
- EC looked uncharacteristically sluggish. Someone suggested that the flu had been circulating (I'm hoping that was the case).
- Ma'ville constantly switched their forecheck between 4 or 5 schemes, very effective in confusing EC's breakout
- In the second, Ma'ville dangled a forward while on D which created a lack of consistent pressure while EC was in possession. Eagles simply couldn't keep the puck in the zone with only 1 defender at the blue line.
- Ma'ville's defense is really bad. Good thing their forwards can backcheck well.
- EC generated precious little offense; combination of Ma'ville's forecheck and EC's seeming lack of gas.
edit: EC generated 16 - 10 - 3 shots tonight ... something is wrong.
- IMHO, the ECAC/W deserves only one spot this year ... if that.

That's all they'll be getting due to Elmira's tank job the last two weeks.

If Elmira wins today and makes it to the ECAC West finals, they'll lock up the Pool B bid IMHO no matter who wins the ECAC W.

Sounded like a good game though yesterday elbo?

Outcome was good, the process getting there was not. Got outplayed through long stretches. Team seems to be running on 3 cylinders!? 3 total shots in the third.

Re: EC will be fine

E.C. WAS FINE .. a really character game played by a team hit by sickness and missing a few key guys ..Tuttle was strong ..Masters led and the rest played WITH THEIR HEARTS..THIS TEAM CAN BEAT ANYONE IN D3 ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT..DON'T COUNT THEM OUT..SOME PEOPLE MIGHT GET HURT JUMPING ON AND OFF THE E.C. BANDWAGON...THEY DID BEAT OSWEGO THIS YEAR ..DIDN/T THEY???.."ONE AND DONE FROM NOW ON... THE REAL SEASON STARTS...
