Denver really lost because their empty net play was inferior to Miami's. ;)

NO. 5 minute majors exhaust players. It's not about the 'momentum.' Their entire team was gases after that and probably would have lost based on that even if they killed off the penalty.

UND had no problem not losing to PC this year. That's one of the reasons why we're the leader of the conference.

these young'uns can't handle skating.... especially those that live in the oxygen deprived rockies once they travel east to lower altitudes

The players who are especially exhausted are those who aren't on a PK unit. And Evan Crowley. He had to be dead tired.

RIT hit wasn't exactly the same, wasn't direct contact with the head, but it was against a vulnerable player and into the boards, equally as dangerous. Both calls are correct. LaLeggia as a senior has to know he can't open the door for the ref to make that call. That point of the game is not the time to be making hero hits, you're asking for a penalty at that point. Even if it's only called a two, it's a bad and unnecessary situation to put your team in. You cannot target a player's head. Period. Not to mention the rule is crystal clear on the issue.

Apparently it is or he doesn't watch enough of it.

There are plenty examples of teams gaining energy/momentum from killing a major penalty. Also don't be shocked Riz, teams have won games after doing so!

Edit: Funny enough, RIT player said they gained MOMENTUM from killing the 5 minute major when he was interviewed.

It did happen to my team last week in the ECAC semis. I'm man enough to admit that the hit did NOT cost my team that game.

So the refs shouldn't call penalties at the end of the game even when it's the right call?
