Dump Term 2 Part 6: Send in the Clowns

Serious Dems are already talking about this. Not politicians; the career staff who understand everything and run the pols as show ponies.

We aren't going to make the mistake Clinton did with Rumsfeld and Obama made with Cheney.

I think all of us hope your last sentence is true. 2024 made me rethink our chances of turning it around.

It is entirely too easy for the billionaire class to abuse technology to shape public opinion now. For example, let's discuss Meta pausing new political ads on its platforms for the week immediately prior to Election Day. It's certainly not out of any sense of goodness or duty to neutrality in what remains of Zuck's shriveled little heart. Grassroots campaigns can't afford as much (if any) TV time, and so social media campaigns are where much of their money earmarked for voter outreach gets spent. Cutting them off a week before the election is a way to amplify the final messages of whomever the billionaires are funding.

It gets less effective every year. The gullible olds are dying and everyone young knows everything on social media has the authenticity of marketing.

The activists have to not relax. If we win those seats we must immediately ride those assholes into the ground demanding immediate and dramatic action. If possible, the olds should be unseated from party positions that matter. We are in a position similar to that faced in the 1960s when the Democratic mainstream was elderly, corrupt, and hopelessly captured by the rich and the socially asleep. We need as much as possible to gently but firmly ease the olds into the abattoir and take the reins of power.

A rich straight white 63-year old male should not be 3 standard deviations left of the Democratic party mainstream. We need a party -- a country! -- where I am at most a centrist. We need policies that are Left enough that I am uncomfortable.

I want to not move an inch and die a relative reactionary conservative.

If he wasn't a legal employee of the agency, then any decisions and orders he made should be null and void, right?

Fox News: "Why are you at this rally this morning?"

Man: "Well, I was way too young to go to South America to Jonestown, but I've always wanted to see what a cult looked like up close."
