Maybe Chuck Schumer will write an exceptionally strongly worded letter and Cory Booker can filibuster nothing in particular for 36 more hours? Remember: when they go low, we go high.

People know what needs to be done but no one is going to be the first to say it. It'll either happen organically or it won't happen at all. My money is on the latter. Been nice knowing you. Well, some of you.

I mean it is obvious that every corporation will need to reevaluate everything they do through a lens of if it is bad for MAGA. Most likely through not distributing anti-Trump ads to specific location. They need to make sure the content algorithm will choose pro-MAGA content by default like Facebook, etc.

My Google-fu is failing me this week, why does the senate need 60 votes to pass the funding budget? I thought a clean CR budget bill needed just 51 yes votes? Is there more jammed in this bill causing it to be treated different?

A clean Continuing Resolution (CR) needs 60 votes in the Senate because of the filibuster rule, which allows a minority of senators to delay or block a vote
. To overcome a filibuster and bring a bill to a final vote, a supermajority of 60 votes is required for a procedure called "cloture," which ends debate.

Dont you remember like 6 months ago when we did this? Schumer recruited 10 Dems to pass the CR and ticked off the entire world. Trump has the powers he has now because Schumer wouldn't shut it down (because Trump would have too much power...HAH!) even though the federal workers union, who was going to be the most affected, said to do so.

Stephen and Jimmy did crossovers last night for their shows. It is so heartwarming how much they like eachother, and how they talk to eachother. They display qualities that I would really appreciate in a President.

Alas, no, we have a complete fuckwad in office. And all of his merry minions and capitulating morons are all just as awful as he is.

I do remember six months ago how they kicked the can down the road and Schumer trying to play nice with a shit throwing baboon only to get covered in shit. I just couldn't remember if there was a way to pass a budget on a simple majority to avoid the filibuster and to 110% lock the GOP as causing this whole mess.

The GOP always has the option of nuking the filibuster to pass it with their simple majorities. The fact that they haven't means they don't think the shutdown will blow back on them.
