Alright, going off on a different route..... Anyone following what is happening in Minnesota Hockey District 10? The District, with an unanimous vote of it's association presidents, voted to outlaw any on ice activities after games outside of the hand shake line. Of course, in their write up, they stated that this included prayer circles. OH MY!!!! The MAGAts and Christian zealots are losing their sh*t!!!!! And the funny thing is, I would say half the associations in District 10 are MAGAt and Christian strongholds, and this still passed unanimously.
I get why the District did this. These prayer circles used to be short and sweet, but now they are getting longer and kids are also milling around after them. I have even heard stories of girls going over the the exits and grabbing phones from their parents/friends so they can get selfies with their buddies. Ice time in these communities is such a commodity that something had to be done. Scheduling is already tight and some game are going to 'hard stop" times just to fit everything in. Everyone is saying just add extra time onto each game, but if you do that, you end up losing at least one time slot that could be used by someone. With most rinks in Minnesota being community owned and tied to the taxpayers for any losses, time is money. That is one of the great things about Minnesota Hockey, we have been able to keep it affordable (comparatively speaking) due to the City owning the rinks.
I made the comment that I can imagine what would happen if a bunch of players of Islamic faith brought their prayer rugs out to give thanks after the game. Oh boy, some MAGAt from Florida just jumped on everything that is wrong with Minnesota politics, in his opinion.

Judging by their speeches, neither Trump nor Hegseth has paid the slightest attention to how actual wars are being fought in the actual world. The “war fighting” and “lethality” they plan is inside their own country and comes from conflicts inside their own minds.
