Screenshots here of an amazing exchange on X. Axios reporter Alex Thompson's new book on Biden claims (with no sources) that Biden shook DNC chair Jaime Harrison's hand without recognizing him. Harrison posts "it never happened". Then Axios editor Jake Wilkins - wow - tells Harrison he's wrong! 1/

You need to read this thread. In the new book on Biden by Tapper and Axios they talk about some point when Biden was shaking Jaime Harrisons hand but seemed to forget him. Harrison read the tweet about it and said it didn't happen. The guy said it did happen and Harrison should read the book and then decide. It gets worse from there...

Axios’ editorial comms director who is relentlessly pushing the Axios/Tapper book about Biden was a literal Republican operative who did comms for Ron Johnson, Kevin Cramer, the RNC, the ND Republican Party, and worked on Rand Paul’s 2016 campaign.

So some Republican flunky is gaslighting the former head of the DNC. And neither Tapper nor his co-writer ever contacted Harrison to confirm the story before publishing?

Edit: apparently the impetus for this book at all was George Clooney being upset Biden might not have recognized him once. Not a joke...
