My SO was talking to her friend in the Army Corp of Engineers...all she keeps saying is "buckle up" because there is a lot of things that are set to fail. Hell the Military Parade Trump is going to have (they must all be marching in protest amirite) could literally destroy the infrastructure around DC. Bridges and roads cannot handle what they are about to do...

I read the Arlington Memorial Bridge was recently rehabilitated and the weight limit is "unlimited" but that just means there's no restriction on truck traffic over it.

Federal trucking weight limit is 80,000 lbs (40 tons) with a maximum of 20,000 lbs (10 tons) on any single axle. An M1 Abrams is 60 Tons by itself, but does have the benefit of weight displacement with the treads.

Those treads create their own set of problems, so unless they're modified to have raised plastic/rubber shoes between the treads (like construction equipment) those treads are going to gouge the ever loving shit out of those asphalt streets. The other issue with driving overweight tracked vehicles down city streets is the harmonics the treads will do that will transfer through the subgrade to any utilities located under the route. Potential for weakened sewer lines to collapse and antiquated water mains to burst.

IMHO, the infrastructure problems aren't going to be immediate. Its going to be like everything else Trump does: Make a grandiose entrance full of excess, leave, put the city on the hook for cleanup and damages.


I don't expect the Arlington Memorial Bridge to I-35W itself, but the odds are not zero.
 
She is a classic Pick Me (right down to having been some lame state festival "Queen" back in the day), but all of them just make it up. It's a show for their media bubble to bowdlerize and take soundbites from for the lineup of evening irritainment where they tell the automatons how to "think" in lowest common denominator. How dare those smug librulz try to school righteous, God-fearing conservatives on the basics of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights!
