Actually, it does. The way your government usually works is you would create a new department, hire 1,000 people with 5 layers of "management", pay them the prevailing private sector wage to hire 'only the best' (sure), then give Full benefits AND a pension.

Remember, Twitter/X fired 2/3rds of the workforce and things still ran smoothly. Well besides all of you getting your panties in a bunch about free speech and democracy being destroyed. Just another case of your circuits overloading. :-) :-)
 
Absolutely love every MAGA agreeing with Vivek Ramaswany in thinking government is some bloated corpse that RFK Jr should leave in Central Park with a bike, meanwhile the overall employment numbers are at the lowest since 1954, from their peak in the 80s and 90s.

A lot of departments have made do with less for decades, but sure, pop off how these cuts are beneficial.



Gonna be hilarious when veterans find out they cut the Affordable Care Act AND Veterans Affairs benefits in one swoop.
 
You know i've laid off posting here for some years now and finally, I think it's time again. I wish it wasn't.

I play golf with a bunch of Republicans. these guys are smart and hard-working guys but they believe their congressman when he goes and says that the military is indoctrinating people in left wing idealogy.( whatever that is)
Since I spent half my life in the military I told them it wasn't true.( they don't believe me) But this is Trump's playbook. Accuse them of what you want to do, your people get all mad, and then you get to do what you accuse them of doing. (BTW, Chuck Hagel, former Senator from Nebraska and former Sec of Defense under Bush, wrote an op ed in the New York Times yesterday regarding this subject. )

To be more specific the DEI courses. Well first, DEI courses are a 1 day seminar per year. If I wanted to indoctrinate someone it would take a lot more than a 1 day seminar. Second, they have never seen the curriculum nor been to a class, or been in the military. It's just what someone said on fox entertainment channel on the weekend. That guy was a major in the National Guard. he never led more than 20 people anywhere. He has no knowledge of what DoD DEI courses contain. . How the heck would he know? He doesn't. So in essence trump wants to politicize the military so that it will arrest people he doesn't like or who disagree with him. If this occurs, it's the end of free speech.

I think Trump and Mike Johnson’s real “little secret” is their plan to empower Trump to make recess appointments without Senate approval. I’m sure Susan Collins will be concerned when Gaetz becomes AG without her approval- but hey, if Trump succeeds in this endeavor, at least she can argue to Maine voters in 2026 that she didn’t vote for Gaetz or RFK. I can think of at least one poster who will buy that.

This made me think back to when Michelle Obama pushed for healthier meals especially at schools with less processed foods and more fruits and vegetables. And of course republicans lost their minds. And then lost their minds even more when she planted a garden at the White House (which if I remember correctly was then removed by the fat orange slob). Be funny when all the junk food they love is banned or tastes like hell when things are forced to change. Some how it will still be Biden's fault though
