TBF, if everything does start to fall apart, it’s highly likely that other countries will be getting involved, Russia and China especially, though Europe and the UK will too.

Also, Canada probably blows up too. The only thing holding them together right now is hatred for the US and maple syrup.

I agree. The US becomes a proxy like Europe did in WWI and II, the US did in the Revolution...etc.

Taiwan for sure, Japan and South Korea probably wouldn’t be worth the squeeze.

Though I don’t think anyone would be getting involved militarily, not worth getting potentially nuked. I was thinking more like supplying stuff, not even necessarily weapons or equipment.

Edit: Also, try to imagine invading Japan now. It was going to be slog in 1946 when they were starving and ill equipped. Now imagine trying to invade computer aided Japan?

China never forgot WWII. NK wants everything SK has. The US is the only thing keeping world order and that is going bye-bye.

Like I said, the juice wouldn’t be worth the squeeze. Japan doesn’t really have any notable strategic resources so why basically set up a colony? Better off forcing the Japanese into an economic system that’s in the Chinese favor.

For South Korea, why let the North win? Now China would basically have to subsidize a whole other country. China would be better off kicking out the Kims and letting the South deal with the mess. With no US they wouldn’t need the buffer state and it would cripple a rivals economy for decades.

The same reason Trump will invade Canada. Authoritarians want more. Always more. Hate, grievance, and greed is literally what everything is about.

If it goes long enough they will have to cue up the military. A US Civil War will like cause a depression and neutrality won't get the economies running. It will take time but sooner or later the War Machine will kick in it always does...

As for Japan China should just wait them out. In 2 generations they won't have enough people to fight off an invasion. Hell in 10 years they might welcome it out of boredom. Japan is failing as a society population-wise.

TBH, if things really get to a civil war I could see some international diplomatic intervention, only because of how much nuclear material is here. As much as Russia and China want us destabilized I doubt they want unaccounted nukes floating around.
