DU vs UM 2/12-2/13 at Magness

Re: DU vs UM 2/12-2/13 at Magness

:)

I was waiting for Happy to respond to your earlier post.
It didn't take long. ;)
Happy, like the entire Gopher hockey program, is mired in a slump. Lucia isn't landing blue chippers, the Gopher offense isn't scoring and Happy isn't bringing any new material.

All that's missing is Maturi giving Happy a vote of confidence.

Errrrr..........Lucia is landing plenty of blue chippers. As the fanbase has discussed all season long this team does not have a recruiting problem. There are 17 NHL draft picks on the current squad along with at least 3 first rounders. Many (if not all) of those 17 were highly recruited by other institutions. AND, not only that but Minnesota always ranks in the top 5 recruiting classes every year (Michigan of course ALWAYS being #1).

That all being said the season is over and Minnesota needs Denver's help to make sure that Minnesota is not a TUC at the end of the year and thus is no help to any of its opponents.

Re: DU vs UM 2/12-2/13 at Magness

As we've all discussed many times, NHL Draft status has nothing to do with college hockey productivity. Case in point for DU, Kyle Ostrow & Anthony Maiani.

Wooger was right on the money earlier in the season. The mandatory TV timeouts have changed the game. Wisconsin & Minnesota always had a talent and depth advantage. Now teams like UMD & SCSU can just roll two lines all night long. You really only need one potent line, a bang up power play unit and employ the neutral zone trap and you can play with anyone.

If you have a couple of slick blueliners like DU and Wisconsin you can dominate.

You didn't mention anything about productivity you said, "blue-chippers" and no Gophers fan would argue they are producing. Time to let the vendetta go.

The Vendetta is over. All is forgiven. :)

Where did I say anything about productivity? You said blue chipper, and all 17 were considered that when they were recruited.

Wooger is almost always right. Perhaps a little demented at times, but his hockey knowledge is unsurpassed and his always-refereshing take is a joy in these days of bland TV personalities. I'd take Wooger on our broadcast any day.

I just don't see the gophers getting swepped again. Gophers get 1 point hopefully 2 anything more than 2 I'd think i was dreaming. Lets hope i do dream.

Re: DU vs UM 2/12-2/13 at Magness

I'm feeling optimistic about the Gophers this weekend. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict they score a goal this weekend.

I am as well so I will go out on that same limb and say we score a goal on both nights.

Are any Minnesota players expected to miss this series? As for DU, I can assure you that Dusty Jackson will not play :D

Sure. Jay Barriball was lost for the year in the fall, Taylor Matson was lost for the year in January, and Mike Hoeffel has mono.

At the start of the year those 3 would have been on your short list of key players for the Gophers.

Who is DU missing? As if it's going to matter.

EDIT: Maybe Hoeffel will be back for Denver. Who knows?

You better believe that the DU defense is going to be gunning for the shutout on Friday.

If DU gets the lead look out. Six across the crease. :)

Re: DU vs UM 2/12-2/13 at Magness

I'm sure that record would be different had Minnesota agreed to actually play Denver in the regular season from the '60s to the early '70s. That era was Denver's best.

Where is Happy when we need him?:D

EDIT: LOL. I am late.
