DU @ UAA - Friday 11/6/09

Re: DU @ UAA - Friday 11/6/09

Murray came up very big several times, especially in the 3rd. Kid did a fine job. Pioneers were really flying for most of the 2nd and 3rd.

DU all alone in 1st in the WCHA with a 4-0-1 record, overall 6-2-1 record. Murray with 22 saves

I had my boney finger quivering over the panic button. Maybe I'll have to put it back in my nose, where it belongs.

Gwoz thinks DU will play better tomorrow night with this win under their belt. Murray's confidence should be brimming now with that strong performance. Colborne and Maiani both missed wide open chances that they would normally have easily buried. Plus the number of posts that DU hit especially Wiercioch. He expects the offense to make fewer mistakes tomorrow and bury their chances.

Gwoz also gave kudos to UAA for playing a smart and scrappy game. This is the second week in a row that DU has faced an opponent not considered to be a title contender that fought hard. He said winning WCHA games is not easy especially on the road.
