Game over. DU 6-CC 5.
And tempers really flare. Even Juicy got into it. Man, I haven't seen a dust up like this in a long while. We'll see who, if anybody, is out for tomorrow. Hey, that was fun. Give CC credit, they just kept on coming. But DU WON, which is the object of the drill.
On the replay, you can see the DU player got boarded big time as the clock wound down, and that's what triggered the scrum. Major props for Juicy, gettin' in the fight.
Game over. DU 6-CC 5.

Scoring 5 and losing is a tough, tough night. CC played a hell of a game, and could have won. I'm pretty darn glad they didn't, but wow!

It turns into a squealer when the defense puts on the cruise control & stop attacking. No one was moving their feet at the end there.
Hope Gwoz gives them a ration in the locker room. It should have never been that close.

THat's why it is so cool having Rycroft in the booth. Prior to that last face off, he stated that DU had to be ready for some cheap shenanigans from CC and that is exactly what happened. He told the listening audience that in CC's desparate position that DU players needed to be aware of that tactic. Spot on Mark!

This why somebody like Rycroft, and not stickey, should do the PBP....knowledge rules....

Gwoz on now. Lax in coverages after a big lead. Strong, tough guys lost key battles. Lack of success on faceoffs got "Cooked." Complacent shifts and an idea that guys could take a shift off. The big lead contributed to some guys not competing at a high level. DU players need to learn that the other team is going to play even harder when behind. And they need to expect that. Gwoz did not criticize the effort of his team, not CC. Gwoz gave a lot of credit to CC. Expects a great game tomorrow with the infamous and globally respected hockey announcer Norm Jones calling the game with Rycroft being the color guy, of course. I guess Jay needs to go throw a prarie chicken his skinny meat.

I just looked at the boxscore and it tells me that CC scored one FEWER goals than DU scored. But I agree CC went blow for blow on what Stickney calls the HUGE ice. I look forward now to tomorrow where we'll bury you on micro ice. Now go pass in under your dumpster.
