Re: Drinking Thread: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Wine - Raise a Glass, All Are Welcome
Really? It's my absolute go to. I'm not a fan of Maker's Mark but I haven't had 46 so I can't comment there. I've never had Yellow Rose or Outlaw either. The Four Roses Small/Single are typically at a higher price point than WRDS I thought. For whatever reason, I get a very pleasant buzz on WRDS than I do with any other non-WR bourbon. Can't explain it.
The WRDO, on the other hand, is my #1 bourbon of all time (as of now). Fairly cheap and I'd put it up against many other bourbons twice the cost. Now, as soon as I get my Stagg and Pappy (I don't think I'd go for the 23, maybe something a bit easier on the wallet, diminishing returns and whatnot) I'll see what happens. But among the readily available, it's not even a question.
The regular Woodford is overrated. Give me Maker's 46, Yellow Rose Blended or Outlaw, and Four Roses Small Batch/Single Barrel (both of them) over that anyday
