Oh yeah, and ate at Greenbush tonight and they no longer have flights of Pappy listed on the menu, so maybe you got in under the wire. I didn't ask if they are actually available or not - just noticed that it's not on the menu.

You can still get pours, but the menu states 1 per customer for Pappy.

Just an fyi.

BTW, the pizza was to die for - as always.

Wow. I'm very lucky, I guess. Although...I have yet to get the Stagg. I couldn't last time, because I was driving and all...

And agreed on the pizza. I ate the sh* outta that.

Pusser's (Blue) & Coke

Gonna kill the bottle as I have no room on my bar. There are probably 3 in there, so pretty confident of my mission's success.

Angel's Envy Bourbon. On sale for $40, took a chance. It's okay. I've had better at this price point. However, due to hockey, gonna make a dent in this sumbeech.

I always under estimate how much is left in a bottle. There were 5 drinks. In two hours.

Feeling happy. :)

Bottle killed... mission accomplished.

I always under estimate. Although I measure in fingers, not shots. Oops.

Yeah. Just checked and a full glass would be 4 fingers, so let's say... 3.5 fingers.

:D

That's about right.
Still just pouring 2 fingers of Angel's Envy (bourbon, not rye). On sale for $40. It's okay for that price point. Prob wouldn't buy it again. There are others that are better.

:D

The last one was wicked as I kept pouring thinking... "It'll fit."

After leaving undergrad, I had a really hard time translating my bartending skills to the "normal" population. Our mixed drinks were made with such cheap liquor, soda and ice were the financially limiting factors. My dad did not appreciate a pint glass 3/4 full of bourbon.

Depends on the bar. At the local Toby Keith's, the bartender we know pours us (MNS, bbdl, me) 50-50 7&7s at worst, and charges us singles. :D

I believe that's positioned more as a novelty (wrong word, but that's all I can think of right now) than a standard bourbon. Being finished in Port barrels and all.

I've read a lot of reviews on AE and some people really like their stuff and others really don't.

The rye is incredible but a lot of rye/whiskey purests find it to be a perversion. Not all though...

It is a niche. Had to try it. I mean, I really like New Holland's Beer Barrel Bourbon, and that is a niche, too. I'd buy the NH again, and have, and no questions asked. It's really good.

Those bars are the best. :)

You should mosey on down to state street and visit Mondays the next time you are in Madison. About 3.50 for a pint of liquor and all you have to do is ignore the mild smell of urine and handle the incredibly drunk undergrads. Actually, the last time I was there (Minnesota football game), there was an abundance of goofs. They actually sang one of the odd songs you people find motivating without a large brawl happening, which the Minnesota fans in my group were quite willing to participate in despite my very sober and coherent heckling.
