Plattsburgh edges Manhattanville 1-0 to sweep their weekend in Norwich. A note of concern for the Cardinals is that they committed 11 penalties in the two games....

Two shutouts make it easier to kill penalties though....;)

Concern? That's pretty good for the way they're going to, and have been calling it across the county this weekend.
In the WIAC this weekend:
UWSP had 16.
UWRF had 9.
UWS had 9.
UWEC took 11.

MIAC:
SMU took 9 in one game.
St. Kate's 6 and St. Ben's 7 in their only games.

Officials will call a lot of Interference, Holding and Too Many Players early on.

This should answer questions about who's number one and two. Planets are aligned once again as they were for the better part of the past 12 months...with the exception of that one flukey weekend last spring....

Plattsburgh looked mighty impressive on Saturday. Better all over the ice than Norwich. Rematch in January should be fun to see how far the two have come.

Re: Division III score updates - 2013-2014

WAY too many penalties, especially in the third with a one-goal lead.......

A lot of penalties but definitely some ones that raised some eyebrows...9 minors on Norwich to one for Elmira....

None the less, great to see Norwich perservere with tremendous penalty killing and blocking shots by MacKinnon, Gibson, Champagne and then Fairchild stayed calm and composed in the net as well.

Yesterday showed me the most character, grit and heart out of Norwich women's hockey team that I have seen since 2011....

PLATTSBURGH 8 POTSDAM 0
Cardinals record their third straight shutout.
Sydney Aveson now has 20 career shutouts and is only four away from tying Carolyne Roy's career best of 24.

St. Scholastica drubs Finlandia 10-0. The Waidacher sisters each had 8-point nights. Isabella with 5 goals, Nina with 5 assists.
