The last player to go from a regular player in the USHL to D3 was Jayson Dobay. He played 2 years and 104 games for Youngstown before Utica. As of today (5/20/25), 133 CHL players have committed to D1 schools for the 25'-26' season. With the lower roster limits, (and assuming these CHL kids will make their teams) that's 5+ full rosters that will be forced to play down this Fall should they wish to continue their careers in ice hockey. CC is listed as having a USHL recruit, and I don't recall any USHL kids playing D3 at least in my small subset of the sport.
