DIII All Americans Watch

Re: DIII All Americans Watch

part of that is that Cranston is keeping a pretty even spread between 3 solid goalies. to this date... Campbell only has 9 full games, Deardorff has 6 full games, Kuechle has 4 full games, and there are 2 games with multiple goalies (one of which Rasmussen also saw the ice)

Justice has 12 games and of the 6 split games, she was on the ice/got the win in 5 of them. (not sure why she wasn't in at all against superior)

According to USCHO stats Campbell is goalie of record in less than 50% of the team's conference games. That should pretty much disqualify her from all-conference, which means no AA recognition either. That's the price you pay for sharing the net.

Re: DIII All Americans Watch

A good list Prez, but I would make the following two adjustments:

1. Swap Charron and Holtz. Charron has scored against all comers, Holtz has piled up a lot of points against weaker non-conference opponents;

2. Swap Bloom and Chamberlain. If I had my druthers I'd put both on first team, but I can't. Laura has 7 players averaging over 1 ppg playing in front of her. Lexi doesn't.

It's a tribute to the depth of talent that we aren't even talking about Zukas, Hanlon, Weiss, etc.

Good points on Charron/Holtz.

I'm with you on your second point too, but I put Chambo as #1 because goaltending has been the missing ingredient at RIT for the past four or five years and this year they finally got a good one and look what happens...You could flip a coin between the two.

It's a darn shame that Zukas, Hanlon, and especially Weiss more than likely won't get much consideration for these. Weiss has the all-around package and is a tremendous two-way hockey player. I wanted to find a spot for her on one of the teams but I couldn't see it at the moment.

Re: DIII All Americans Watch

Prez...good picks...just going through overall stats and I know this topic has been discussed before and that overall stats are not always a true indication of a players talent (especially for Defense) but I noticed Sarianne Lynn is the top defenseman in the country with 21 points and then Lloyd with 18 and from your comments Lloyd might not be playing D. Since you know Norwich what’s your take on this is? I think Galbraith should be a 1st team selection over Lloyd.

Sari is a very good dman and has definitely taking the reins on leading a young d-core this year for the Cadets. She's a tremendous asset on the blue line as a power play QB and racks up the points that way.

However, just thought the four I listed were better overall defensemen. But, like I said if Lloyd isn't playing defense this year, that opens up another spot :)

I have to agree with Preze on this one. Laura's number speak for themself, so does Blooms for that fact, excect when it comes to W/L.
Goaltending has been the missing ingredient for RIT. Look at last year, how many players on RIT had over or close to a point a game. you didn't hear much talk about an AA Goalie playing for them.
And throw in the fact that in 6 games against Norwich, Amherst 2, Plattsburgh 2 and Elmira she's 4-0-2 with only 5 goals against.

True but on the bright side River Falls has a great predicament. They have three all-conference and quite possibly AA quality goalies. So who deserves to play?

2 or 3 years ago Kunzlemann from UWS was 1st Team NCHA and Nespor was 2nd team (or the other way around) and Amy Statz was left out. Both split time in net and put up solid numbers in the games that they played, while Statz played almost every game. There is no way in heck the NCHA coaches do not vote Campbell as the 1st team goalie. I really can't forsee that happening.

As I said I wish it were possible to have a 1 and 1A. RIT is a much better team with Laura and Midd is a much better team with Lexi. Replace them both with "Average Annie" and I think RIT is still much stronger. That's why win percentage shouldn't be the difference.
