Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Ball go far.

I don't think I've seen a ball go that far into right field. That nearly made the concourse.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I was surprised that they called him out.

Buck Farmer is in the game. I fail to see how this is an improvement. Give him an inning or two and you'll see why.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Oh, and JD hit #30 today for us. No homer light, as it happened a little while ago.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Oh, here we go. A little mini-riot in the dugout. This is nice.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Did you see who we've got pitching? You might get another 4-spot in the top half of the next inning.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Ohhh, he paid a hell of a price for that save.

You might need a new closer the rest of the way.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I figured a broken arm. A line drive like that coming right back up through the box is usually bad news.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

After we get done with Boston, our next four series are against KC, Houston, Cubs, Rangers. We're really going to slide, I think.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I was at the game. Norris was bad. simple as that.
igelesias didn't try for an almost routine grounder and McCann let him know about it.When
I looked into he dugout Gose had him by the neck. I hope he sits a few games.
I was pretty po'ed in the 5th I think when we had the first two on and Gose came up and hit away instead of bunting. of course he lines into a DP.
I blame Ausmus for that one.
had a couple of real good Boston plays that most people wouldn't see but cost us at least two runs. one was on a blooper in the first inning, and one was an unbelievable throw by Bradley to keep kinsler from scoring in the 7th I think it was.
Overall totally forgettable. I didn't think Farmer was as bad as norris at all. Uehara started both his hitters out with change ups at 70 mph and got Kinsler on a 75 mph pitch in the dirt.
I was in Boston last week and saw kelly vs the rays(?) and he was very good. Which surprised me. Boston has a bunch of good young guys who will be a lot better next year.
There was a lot of Boston fans there tonight and they were not particularly polite. No one threw beer on them, but they should have.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Norris was poor tonight. I knew it was going to be a short night when I looked up and saw him at 35 pitches with 2 out in the 1st.

Gose had Iggy by the scruff of the neck to go get him to sit back down, after the majority of the scuffle was over.

Gose has his own issues to worry about, as he's in one heck of a slump right now.

Farmer was better than I thought he would be. Maybe the best spot for him is long relief. *shrug*

And as I alluded to earlier, the schedule doesn't get any easier the next two weeks. We're 11.5 behind KC now. There's an outside chance that we're 20 games back by the end of the month. We're not catching KC either way, but we'll be buried in the WC standings, too. We're only 5 back in the WC now, but we're also 10th in the AL in the standings there, too.

Reading his comments in today's Detroit News just now, I think we might have a prima donna for a SS. If you're going to be that young and with that attitude, you'd better make **** sure that you're the next coming of Robin Yount or Cal Ripken in the field.

He's the best fielding shortstop I've seen since Belanger (Ozzie??). His bat is surprising me this season.

I'm surprised that he's hitting this well, too. But there have been more than a handful of plays this year that have made me scratch my head, such as booted balls hit directly to him, or flips to 2nd base that are off target, or dropped FC's at 2nd. Before reading this, I was more than content to write those off as youthful mistakes. I still suspect that's the case, but this makes me wonder a little bit, just where his head is at times.

I believe we get the beautiful Tigres alternates tonight for Latin Night.

I would be worried about what happened last night, but when the catcher told the short stop to sack up in the movie, they went on to win the pennant. Sure, it was actually about the Indians, but ya gotta have hope.

I thought that was Dorn, the 3B?

If that's the case, then all we need is for Rondon to go boink Castellanos' wife and we should be good to go.
