Problem is, that's not necessarily a sandbag this year.

So after losing the first game of this series because Ausmus was "saving Alex Wilson for extra innings" while his bullpen ****ed away a four-run lead, they're going to lose this game because Ausmus decided to save Wilson until after the game was already lost(even though the Tigers will dick tease in the bottom of the 12). Buy or sell, Ausmus shouldn't be manager of this team by next Monday.

No. We're trying to bail out the Titanic now that we've hit the iceberg and broke in half.
We're throwing Verlander, Simon and Greene this weekend. Simon has an ERA somewhere around $TEXAS since Memorial Day, and I can't remember the last time Greene got through the 6th. And our bullpen is shot to hell. We scored 19 runs in the last three games. And walked away with exactly one win.
We're both falling. It might end up being a contest to see just who is going to bounce higher off the pavement.

We started 11-2. Since then we are 10 games under .500. It now takes 43-24 the rest of the way to touch 90 wins. And 90 wins has missed the AL wildcard two of the three years since the start of this format.

And the Red Sox go 0 - 7 for the road trip (1st time since 1951). Two walk off dingers on the trip by the oppo. There could be an ugly scene this weekend at Fenway. Sharknado 4 should be filming in Boston this weekend.

KC is the only AL team that is going to reach 90 wins this year. But there's no way the Tigers get to the 85 or whatever it's going to take to make the playoffs.
The real shame is that there's no trouble coming up with at least four or five games the Tigers lost directly because of Ausmus' dip**** managing, which just coincidentally, is how far out of a playoff spot they are right now.

I used to think that was just a rumor, but I've heard from a couple people in the Detroit media that more or less said it's true, which I find so surprising. Their chemistry is so good and baseball announcers have to spend so much time together you'd think it would be impossible to be with someone you hate. Still, there are times in the broadcast where they set up a conversation like it's a planned window for the audience to learn about them, but the rest of the conversation ends up sounding like they really didn't know seemingly obvious things about each other.
