Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I'd rather have Ausmus than Gardenhire, and I don't mean that as a strong endorsement of Ausmus.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Im not going to say you should get Gardy. I actually think he isn't looking currently for a head coaching job. But, he is definitely a better fit for a veteran team than one with a ton of young guys.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Hiring a manager in training when your window is slamming shut was idiocy. That is all.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Yup. This team looks dead. With minimal help on the horizon. Victor's not right, and he's not going to be right for a while. There isn't a bat in the farm system that's busting down the door to get to Detroit. Verlander is likely to be back late next week, but that's not going to help this lineup score more than 2 runs a night.

After tonight's debacle, we're 1/3 of the way through the season. We're 28-26. That doesn't cut it. I think Brad Ausmus is in some trouble here. Now, I've made it known that I'm no fan of Brad Ausmus, but if we fire him, then what?

Oakland is 11 games under .500 right now. And they've paddled our asses over the last week. Take away the sweep Anaheim just gave us, and they're under .500 as well. The White Sox might do the same coming up this weekend.

We're in big trouble here.

Tigers are 17 - 24 .414% since April 20th.

That doesn't cut it.

We're in big trouble here.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Greene throws away a DP ball. A run scores.

Same ****. Different day. This team is coming apart at the seams.

Right after that Phegley rockets a 2-run triple to the wall to make it 3-0 in the 2nd.

This team has a glass jaw. One shot and we're done.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

So many choices...

Bobby Valentine
Kirk Gibson
Ron Gardenhire
John Farrell (once canned by BOS)
Ozzie Guillen
Dale Sveum
Ron Washington
Bob Melvins (once canned by OAK)
Mike Redmond
Rick Renteria
Dusty Baker
Ron Roenicke
Alan Trammell

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

And Jim Price is critiquing the Tigers on their sloppiness. Rightfully so.

This team isn't ready to play.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

3 names:

Ron Gardenhire
Charlie Manuel
Manny Acta

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Looked at Mud Hens tickets for tomorrow night's game. Verlander and Rondon are both scheduled to pitch. Only single tickets are available in one section. Guess I'm not doing that.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Great, Kinsler. Get picked off with Miggy up. Not only does it take an act of Congress for you to get on base in the first place, but once you get there, you go and **** it up within 5 pitches with the big guy at the plate.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Although that DP wasn't Miggy's fault, we might as well start playing Yakety Sax on a loop when we get on base.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Aw, good grief. Here we go with Fat Joba again in the 8th.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Watching Ventura and Ausmus in the dugout is like watching two blind guys have a staring contest.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

****ing hell. Soria blows it with 2 outs in the 9th. Laroche hits a bomb to tie it.

We're taking turns blowing games now.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

You gotta laugh at that. And it might've been preventable if Rajai knows how to jump.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Saw the replay. I don't think he was catching that.
