Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

This one might just be one of those games. It's 4-3 in the top of the 2nd.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

104 thru 5. He'll be lucky to get through 6. Which means we'll need to hang on to our 'cheeks to pull this one out.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Maybe more than that.

Al Al comes in for Price in the 6th and makes a mess mess.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Matthew B. Mowery
#Tigers' "Three Cy Young" rotation core of Scherzer, Verlander, Price in September: 10 GS, 4.24 ERA, .277 BAA, 1.368 WHIP

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

What in the actual **** was Torii Hunter doing there?

By sitting there on the 3rd base line with your dick in your hand, you just got Miggy picked off of 2nd by about 30 feet.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Yes. Let's run 35 feet down the baseline while Mauer jogs towards first base. And then let's get back to 3rd base and completely **** Miggy over. Miggy would have been completely justified to fire his helmet straight into your skull. Prince Fielder looked like Rickey Henderson in last year's ALCS compared to that.

I don't care that you were good 15 years ago. You're a washed-up has-been that has your head up your *** now, just running the clock out on your career.

But let's laugh and giggle in the batter's box and flip your bat when you hit another 35-hopper to SS.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Torii Hunter has been playing with his head up his *** for the better part of this season.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

So now we've got to take 2 out of 3 in KC, or we're looking at wildcard, at best.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Really tough to watch this team, so I listen on the radio. The frustration we feel is clearly evident with Dan and Jim's commentary.
I expect they will limp into the post-season, and at some point will lose in ways that shouldn't surprise us......woeful bullpen ....silent bats ...etc...

You forgot bad base running by 18-year veterans.

Gotta take 2 of 3 from KC this weekend now. We've completely blown our margin of error. Just getting one of these last two would have helped our chances immensely.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

We are in a pennant race in the most exciting time of the baseball season.......yet this team make us all nauseous.
Our team is not who we think they are. Perhaps we are the problem.:D

Hope all is well with you Hammer.

They could, since they have some hex over them this season. (12-4?) vs a .500 record vs. Sox and Twins.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

MLB.com currently has us at a 97% chance of making the playoffs. KC has a 78% chance. Of course, these fluctuate on a game by game basis and Oakland is listed as 100% up until August 15. Not sure how that's possible since clinching is the only way to get 100%, but the fact remains that we still have a very good shot as long as we take care of business at home next week.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

A sweep either way this weekend is fatal for the team on the wrong end. 2 out of 3, especially for us, likely wins the division.

Oakland's been leaking oil since they traded Cespedes. He was their offense.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

4-0 now in the top of the 2nd.

Let's see if Verlander can hang on to this one.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Okay, who thought it was a good idea to send Angel Hernandez to work this series? And worse yet, work home plate tomorrow?

That's like letting Helen Keller drive the pace car at the Indy 500.
