Dirks is absolutely lost at the plate. I'm ready for the Nick Castellanos show.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

If Perez wasn't a rookie, I'd squeeze for sure here.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Is it just me or is there always at least one or two 12+ inning games against Cleveland every year?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

We're going to blow this. Either right here or at 4:00 in the morning.

EDIT: Works almost every time....

6-5 in 14 innings.

Now our bullpen is shot to hell for tomorrow, with Scherzer going for #17.

Bonderman. Uh-oh...

Disappointing.

Bondo was anything but disappointing--pitched great and got the win. Hope he can be a consistent reliever.

Rondon was excellent as well.

Dirks is absolutely lost at the plate. I'm ready for the Nick Castellanos show.

He does seem to have this glazed-over look when at bat. Why is Tuiasosopo not playing?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Two doubles in a row, Prince (2nd of the evening) and VMart; Miggy walked a run earlier in the inning when the bases were loaded.

Score now Tigers 5 : 0 Tribe in the third and McAllister is done.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

8-0 in the 4th.

Overheard in the Free Press newsroom on the twitters- "Bankrupt this.

Edit: 8-1

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Overheard at the bar:

"I didn't know Rayburn pitched."

"Neither did he...."

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Well, it was a whole lot of fun while it lasted, but the I think the streak ends tonight.

3-0 NYY, bottom 3.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Iggy with another line drive to 1/2 way up the 3rd base line.
