Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Detroit Tigers ‏@tigers
#Tigers rotation for ALDS: Verlander (Game 1), Fister (Game 2), Sanchez (Game 3), Scherzer (Game 4) & Verlander (Game 5).

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Game 2 will be at noon on Sunday, and is only available on the MLB network. I don't know how many people have the MLB network, but I assume there will be a large number of people who don't get to see the game...

postseason.tv I watched this some last year, it's actually pretty cool getting the different camera angles and whatnot. It's not the edited broadcast, just the live pictures (one angle or all at once).

I pay Comcast up the tail for that, CBScollegesports, the NHL network, ESPN U and some other channels that I pick up to watch college hockey.

Yep: me, too. I use it just barely enough to justify the cost.

I'm guessing that there is going to be a lot of noise when hundreds of thousands of people wake up on Sunday and realize they can't watch the Tigers game because they only have basic cable.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I fired comcast today. I went over to Dish and saved about 50 dollars per month after the first year. (the first year I saved more.) the only channel I will miss out on is nbc sports network. So all those UNO games are out now.I got tired of being ripped off.

Saw the highlights of the Atlanta wildcard game. Who else is glad we didn't end up with a one game playoff game??

Well, yes... a little unfair how it is configured pairing wild card teams that may have better records versus some division winners against each other in a one game playoff. I could hardly contain the tears when Texas lost to Baltimore... but wished that Atlanta, as much as that pains me, wouldn't have choked against the Cards. Hopefully Scarlet's Nats can kill baseball's version of the cockroach.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Kelly and Worth make the playoff roster, Boesch doesn't.

Boesch must be hurt.. or is this another example of how Leyland over-analyzes? (I assume Oakland will use mostly LH starters.)

I wonder if he will be traded now.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Boesch has had 6 at bats since September 18th. He hasn't had a hit since the 16th, and he's 1 for his last 17. His performance has not warranted a spot on the roster. The other two can play multiple positions, even though I will concede that their bats might as well be on the side of a milk carton, also.

Hammer, he's ruined that kid. I hope Avisail lives up to the hype because Boesch is the new Inge or Raburn.

Jesus Christ on a cracker. Why the hell do you steal 2nd with Cabrera in the batters box? Now there's no reason to pitch to Cabrera.

AVILA!!!

3-1, bottom 5.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Very big HR by Avila. the way it's going verlander will have a tough time going more than 6.

and you steal so maybe you can score on a single. You are banking that they will pitch to him though, and it is somewhat iffy but really fielder is hitting 300 so do you really want to walk CABRERA.

I am not diggin' Josh Reddick's hair.

Go Nats! [obligatory rooting announcement so as not to jinx it for the Tigers]

Counterpoint: If you give a manager an obvious open base, he's going to pitch around Cabrera at the very least, and then take his chances with Fielder. And given Berry's speed and Cabby's power, anything hit into the alley will score Berry from first anyway.

I'll ask you this: You want to take your chances with Cabrera or Fielder? I roll the dice with Fielder.

maybe, but it puts another guy on base and fielder has over 100 rbi's. certainly you have a point, but I would pitch to him depending on the situation. and I doubt, with the arms in the outfield, that berry scores from first.

Benoit, don't you dare give one up here. That little tease to the warning track had better be the end of that.
