Prince with an infield double to lead off the bottom of the ninth. Yep, you read that right.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

And Santiago ****s up the sacrifice. This ends well...

5-4 final.

What a ****ed up ending.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

LOL. Six effin errors on KC and it still takes a miracle to win. Okay, on to the road and hope that Tampa does their thing.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Oh, and the Tribe just axed Acta. Don't expect any help from them next week.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

JFC. All I can say.
I knew I should have stayed on my bar stool.

stopped at Tressel Park to walk the Kiwanis Trail over to Frickers, watched the game there till about the seventh, then left. Got back to my car just in time to hear that the bases where loaded there in the 9th.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

OK, I'm less of an *** for posting this now.

So it looks like I'll be watching the team in sole possession of first place in the AL Central on Friday, just like I assumed I would be when I first saw these games on the schedule back in April.

The Tigers may have stunk on the road, but have a pretty good record at Target Field. Plus, I'll be there Friday and Sunday, and the Tigers have a pretty good record in Minnesota when I'm at the game(although the only loss I was in attendance for was rather notable. You can guess which one ). With the Rays still playing for something, and the Twins getting a head start on next year's spring training, I'm starting to feel cautiously optimistic.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

BOOM!!

2 game lead with 6 to go.

We're still dead.

Food for thought:

Minnesota has lost 7 of their last 8 series at Target Field
Detroit has a .326 batting average this season in Minnesota, and is 5-1 there
Mauer and Cabrera going h2h for the batting title maybe

Should be compelling...

Man, you sound like a Spartan. ;)

Magic number is 5, thanks to Evan Longoria's ninth inning HR. Watched the game on the MLB network last night... picked up the Sox feed from Comcast..the call wasn't as depressing as I had hoped as there was no Hawk, just Stone- only 1/2 of the "most biased" announcing team in MLB.

Okay:

Tigers win.... 5-6 games.... it's over.
Tigers win 4 games.... Sox must win all 6 of their games just to force an extra playoff game.
Tigers win 3 games... Sox can force a playoff game by winning 5 games, win it outright by winning all 6.
Tigers win 2 games... Sox have a chance by winning 4 games to tie, 5 or 6 games to win it outright.
Tigers only win 1 game... Sox can tie by winning 3 games or win it out right with winning 4-6 games.
Tigers lose all remaining games..... Sox only need to win 2 games to tie, 3 to win it outright.

At a minimum, the Sox have to win 3 out of their remaining 6 games, period. Anything less, we have a chance, even if it is a game 163.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Given how awful they are on the road, get me 3-3 and if the Sox turn around from 1-8 to 6-0, tip the cap.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Count on a CWS sweep in Cleveland next week, and at least 1 from the Rays. We got some work to do.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Apparently our bats got lost with the rest of our luggage.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Smart move by Mauer to use home plate to block him from Cabrera, instead of the other way around.

We're gonna be down to a 1 game lead after tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Coke on the mound. Fielder with an error. Let the bed****ting commence.
