5-4 final.

And now we wait to see how the Indians are going to **** us tonight in Chicago.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Why the hell are the White Sox only in the 4th inning? I'm not staying up that late.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Konerko pops out to end the game. For once Hawk has the twig and berries to call the final out.

Tribe win 6-4.

1 game lead.

I still think we're dead.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

So it looks like I'll be watching the team in sole possession of first place in the AL Central on Friday, just like I assumed I would be when I first saw these games on the schedule back in April.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Not necessarily. We've still got the Royals tomorrow, and CWS plays Tampa. At this point I'm not counting on anything.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

****. I thought it was an off day. Well, at least they'll be in first place.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

There's no off days left. It's a 7-day drag race to the finish.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

It ain't over til its over.

Six games on the road and the worst we can do is start those in a tie with the Sox. Of course, considering the Tigers road record, I agree... this thing is over, with the Tigers going 3-3 on the road. The Sox can't possibly do worse than their losing 7 out of 8 slide... or can they?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Two runs in the first. Let's hope Fister doesn't **** it away.

By the way, Prince was thrown out easily at home for the third out. Rod's analysis of the throw that got him: "This is how you do it. Gordon takes his time...........he's got a lot of time......and delivers a strike that gets Prince by about 5 feet."

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

8 straight strikeouts for Fister, breaking the Tigers record held by Denny McLain and John Hiller. Always nice to scrub Denny from the record books.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

9 straight. AL record. One short of the MLB record.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

This morning, I would not have guessed the starting pitcher getting the final out of the 7th on a weak ground ball would elicit a moan of disappointment from the crowd.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Let's just hope that smoking Jimmy didn't leave him in too long. 4-3 now with you know who on in the 9th.

And just as I posted, Benoit gives up a Butler HR to tie the game, 4-4. This team baffles me.

Gopher ball vending machine in the 9th gives up a bomb. Go figure. Great piece of managing, Marlboro Jimmy.

Oh, and we haven't hit since the 2nd inning.
