Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

No Shannon Hogan after the game, but that's okay. We get a nice glimpse of Erin Andrews after the game.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Awful lot of smoke coming from the Detroit media regarding Marlboro Jimmy's future with the Tigers. First Lynn Henning earlier this week, now Tom Gage today.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I was surprised Mario did the game yesterday. I thought they usually brought in a national play-by-play guy or had the home team's guy do it. Either way whoever he was paired with was awful.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

When they do something like that, they'll usually pair one team's PBP with the other's color guy. That's why we've seen Rod on national Tiger games before. They also tell the color guy to really tone it down. That's why we've never seen Rod turn it loose on a national game.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I've seen Rod do it before, but that's why I thought it was usually the color guy, not PBP. I'm assuming the color guy from yesterday was from Cleveland then. I thought it was his first day on the job, he seemed so nervous in everything he said.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I think they know better than to do that with a White Sox game. If they turned Hawk loose on the country like that, there'd be a public stoning by the 4th inning.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Marlboro Jimmy's gonna get run here in a minute. Between the botched double play and that ball going off of Porcello's glove, this is a 5-out inning and counting.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

JFC. Talk to each other on a foul ball. Now Fielder just ran over Avila.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I'm telling you right now, I'm betting that Avila has concussion issues.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Banged in the butt by another call.

5-3 Tribe. We're dead.

Valverde blows it in the 9th as Dirks nearly kills himself on the right field wall.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop now...

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

That was Kelly that ran into the wall, not Dirks.

So we sent out a utility player instead of a right fielder for a defensive replacement. Apparently Avisail Garcia was on the side of a milk carton this afternoon.

2. Two games back now.

**** Jimmy going off in the locker room here. I want Old Man Illitch to read them all the riot act. He's one one who's money they're ****ing away here. Show up and play with your heads not up your asses guys!!

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Tigers continue to dribble down their leg. We said at the beginning of the season that they would have to outhit their defensive lapses. Truly one of the elements that will cost them this division.

I can't be too hard on the starting pitching since it has been pretty decent lately- but Fister didn't come through today in a must win game. It will take them winning all of their home games to give themselves a chance entering their last road swing of the season.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

They're pretty close to needing a 1987 miracle at this point. Have the other team **** their pants and lose 7 in a row to end the season.
