That kid in the "Honesty....pass it on" commercial? Well, needless to say that he gets his *** beat at recess.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Big RBI there out of Dirks to push it to 5-2.

Now we need more out of Cabrera/Fielder.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Uh-oh. I got a bad feeling about this.

Benoit is approaching Fernando Rodney territory.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Well, at least Infante didn't boot THAT ground ball.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Hang on to your nuts, boys. Bottom 9. Here we go...

5-3 final.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

We've got 3 on the board as of the top of the 7th. Given that Scherzer is already sitting on 115 pitches, I don't think it's enough.

PRINCE!!!

6-1, top 7.

About ****ing time.

Mario started the "You can...." before finishing it professionally, unlike another broadcaster working the same game for the other team.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

One game back. Win tonight and it's a 19 game season.

We've got a more favorable schedule. 3 vs CLE (Road), 4 vs OAK (Home), 6 vs MIN (3H/3R) and 7 vs KC (3H/4R).

Chicago has 3 MIN (road), 3 KC (road), 3 LAA (road), 6 CLE (3/3) and 4 against TB at home.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I'm glad I went to bed in the top of the 8th when it was 8-1. That's all I'm going to say about that.

As for the schedule after today, I think it's virtually a wash. They've got Tampa, we've got Oakland. The only other tradeoff is Cleveland and Anaheim, but the Angels are reeling right now, too.

According to something I heard on 97.1 : Tigers have "least difficult" schedule of any of the 16 playoff contending teams. I guess they don't know how hard it is playing Minnesota and KC at home and then on the road when trying to close out the division. ;)

Before we get too giddy, we still have to get our ace more consistent tonight and find a way to take a series in Cleveland this season.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Verlander supposed to pitch tonight. And it's raining. Figures...

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Verlander Verlander'd the Indians tonight. Probably still 1 GB, as CWS is probably going to take care of the Twins.
