Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Holy crap, Stockton. If there's a force-out at the plate, how the hell does the run score?!?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

HUGE hit there from Peralta. The run-down butcher job helped things a bit, too.

6-2 final.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Three Tiger All-Stars: Fielder, Cabrera, Verlander. Fielder is the starting 1st baseman, the first Tiger to be voted starter at 1B.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Tampa bobbles a clear DP ball. Need to cash in here.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Fister strikes out the side to open the game. Mauer's got no room to ***** on that call.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Batters are hitting .211 when Campus is the home plate umpire. This game might end by 9.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

What did the Twins figure out about Fister in the 4th inning?

4 runs on 6 hits, 30+ pitches...

Frankly, I thought Fister was sitting too high in the strike zone early on. They adjusted.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Fister's this close to going bye-bye. And Mauer's hit might have done it.

Yup. Fister's done.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Two major needs for this team:

A corner outfielder with some power

A 2nd baseman

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Starting to look like Fister's the 2nd coming of Doyle Alexander. Good for a division title and not much else.

Wish I could tell ya, but he's signed for several years so he's ours. He's on my fantasy team and I'm about to drop him.

No. He's under our control, but he's not signed long-term. He's arbitration-eligible next season and is not eligible for free agency until 2016.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Miggy slides into 2nd, gets called safe, and then starts yapping at the umpire. *shakes head*

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

If Cabrera actually tried and ran hard all the time that play wouldn't have been close, but he was already into his 'no effort' jog when the ball was hit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Looked to me like he was looking at the ump, as the 2B was on the 3rd base side of the bag.

Miggy gonna Miggy, I guess. This is the same guy who asks for an appeal on his own check swings. *shrug*

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I've never figured that out either. The only thing I can guess is that he's trying to intimidate the umpire. Either way I find the check swing appeal hilarious. The slow jog on every infield ground ball... not so much.
