5-2 final.

Price vs. Verlander tomorrow night.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Tigers don't expect Victor Martinez back before mid-September, if at all. I'm leaning towards the latter there.
At this point, do we even want him to try to come back at all this year? Word is that Philly is might be interested in moving Thome around if the price is right. Thome would be a hell of a DH, and he really doesn't get much action there in Philly, especially now that they're done with Interleague games.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Well, what do you want to give for Thome? Keep in mind that he's 41 or 42 now. And does Philly want what you're offering?

3 bombs off of Verlander tonight. The radar gun looks terrible as well.

Verlander doesn't look right. Not even close. Watch his next start.

JV's at 120 thru 6. That's more than plenty. Go take a shower and write it off as a bad day, big guy.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I have no idea if it's being snakebit or what, but the Tigers have 69 home runs this season so far.

46 have been solo shots.

I love these road jerseys. Reminds me of the '80s Tigers.

But Jesus God, it looks like we're playing the 1978 Seattle Mariners after they've been puked on by the 1980 Milwaukee Brewers.

Too late. Thome got shipped to Baltimore today.

At first I thought Hellickson caught that. Turns out he did, squarely on the shin.

Tampa basically ripped off the 1970's San Diego Padres.

I guess we're going to try to win this 1-0. That might work if this was hockey. I don't like our chances tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Well, it was a thought. At least he's not back in the central.

And he's going to a team that isn't going to hurt anyone, let alone us.

I vote we make these the regular aways.

Either these or the ones they wore in the late 60's. The great franchises rarely, if ever, change jerseys, home or otherwise. The Dodgers, Giants, Yankees, and Red Sox rarely change anything.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

And not a moment too soon. I knew we needed more than one run. What I did not realize was that Benoit was going to commence throwing grapefruit immediately upon entry to tonight's contest.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Bases juiced. 0 out. I don't care if Ryan Raburn is coming up for 3 straight at bats. I don't care if we already have a 2-run lead. We must score here. If not, we're probably going to lose.
