Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

As to fielding percentage, a big meh to that. It's higher because no one on the roster has range. On balls put into play, the Tigers are 29th at .677 of them leading to outs. .700 is considered "average" defense and Toronto leads at .765.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Raburn and Inge are hitting 8-9 tonight. The Hammer Meltdown Alert is raised to orange. I didn't realize it was Bingo Night at Comerica Park.

Now watch. We'll score 9 runs tonight...

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Now Inge boots one in the infield, and he hits 2nd next inning. This could be good.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

If you wish. Although I'd rather we took Inge's locker away from him before he arrives at the park.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

I think Jim Joyce just blew another one at first.

AVILA!!!

4-3 M's, bottom 4

Dead-center, into the bushes.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Inge is now up with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd.

Gee, I wonder what's going to happen next....

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Well, then. That was predictable. It just took longer than expected.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

I'd love to know what on earth Ramon Inge was looking for there. Seriously, Brandon could have done the same thing.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Jim Joyce just needs to be banned from umping first base at Comerica Park. And how about we decide on a starting second baseman so someone can actually get into a rhythm. And how about that second baseman isn't Brandon Inge?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

This is absolute dog**** baseball. Scherzer was putrid last night, and Wilk found a way to be even worse tonight. We get the bases full because Felix walks the ballpark, and we get nothing. We can't even catch a pickoff throw at first base, and we've booted more balls than Jason Hanson tonight.

We deserve to get swept by Seattle.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Should I start watching in June? I cannot watch this.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

At this point, I'm in favor of the tigers getting embarrassed again by Seattle. See who steps up in the clubhouse and talks about how this is what they were going to do this year.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Leyland is already starting his "there is too much baseball left" excuses.

Luckily we only play Seattle 6 times this season. They were 3-7 last season against them IIRC.

Our overall schedule (outside of playing 72 games in the division) is too brutal to piddle away home games against average opponents.Think about it: 10 games against NYY, Boston, LAA and Texas. Even the 18 inter-league games won't be easy-Pitt (6) Cincy, St.L, Cubs, Colorado.

2-5 is terrible home stand, but 1-6 would be devastating. Pitching, hitting and fielding all suck at the same time.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Breaking news, per Dan Dickerson:

The Detroit Tigers have just relased Brandon Inge.
