Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

I'm going to say this about JaCoby Jones. He's going to do some stupid stuff, like running through a stop sign at 3B with the ball in shallow right field (and make it, for the record). But for the forseeable future, you can't accuse him of not hustling.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Candelario to the DL. Dawel Lugo recalled. He’s one we got in the JD trade last July.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

I wonder if the AL Central could have everyone finish at .500 or under

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Winning this division is going to be like being voted the prettiest fat chick at Walmart.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Guyer takes Liriano deep for a grand slam.

4-0, 1 out, top 1

Liriano having serious control issues this evening.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Gonzalez just went ka-bong for the Tribe. 5-1 Tribe.

Liriano might be lucky to see the 4th inning.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Well, he made it to the 5th. I'm not quite sure how.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Reininger's getting shelled now in the 6th, and it's now 8-3. Too bad. You've got to get us some outs. We can't be running through pitchers when we're down 5 runs.

EDIT: This kid's throwing meatballs. This could get ugly.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

He got us out of the inning without further damage. Okay, fine.

I suspect he's headed back to Toledo soon.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

JFC, Greene. You had the win in your hand and you threw it down the right field line.

9-8 final.

Good grief.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Liriano is at 70 pitches through 6. Just sayin'......

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

The no-hit bit ends at 6 1/3. Now let's see if we can hold on for the win.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Sugar Shane gives up a 2-run bomb to tie it up.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Yup. Good old Buck Farmer gives it up in the 11th without recording an out.

But resident genius Lynn Henning from the Detroit News had a tweet a few weeks ago saying that if the Tigers had Greene as a closer and Jimenez as a set-up man in 2013, we would have won the World Series. I wonder if that limp-wristed POS had Joba Chamberlain and the 5 year, $50 mil deal he wanted to give Joba baked in to all that.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Stumpf loads the bases in the 8th, and then can't hit a cow in the *** with a snow shovel, walking in the go-ahead run on 4 pitches. Maybe 1 of them was close.
