Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Back to .500.

If that cookie Sugar Shane threw him was any bigger, we could have dunked it in milk and eaten it.

.500 isn’t bad considering the low offensive production. We’re second to last in runs per game and have only scored more than five twice. Look at last nights games and I believe only two had a victor with four or less runs.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

The offense has been abysmal, no two ways about it. However, they are getting chances, but striking out and popping up in most key moments.

Right about now I'd go kicking the tires on Dallas Keuchel. They need another starter, right now.

9-7 final.

Umpire squeezed the **** out of Zimmerman twice with the bases loaded, resulting in a run walked in. Gardenhire was not happy and demonstrated so. Gardenhire has been run.

1st career bomb for Greiner.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Before the season I figured this series would be the nail in the coffin for the rest of the year, tacking on 4 Ls and solidifying our 4th-5th place spot until September.

Instead we’re guaranteed at least a split after yesterday’s sweep.

Also noticed an oddity in the schedule. Starting next Monday we get three off days in eight days.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Well, Ross is getting shellacked tonight. It's 4-0 now and I don't think he's going to make it out of the 5th inning. We've got exactly 1 hit.

And yes, they're doing a whole lot better than I thought they would so far.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Wow. Ross made it out of the 5th, but he could be done.

It's not going to matter if the bats don't get going in a big way.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

We left the bases loaded with the go-ahead run at the plate in the 8th, and now the Sox tack on a pair so far in the bottom half. 6-1 now, and we're probably done for the night.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

The Three Wise Men didn't give away this much. VerHagen got the first guy on strikes, but then can't hit a cow in the *** with a snow shovel. 2 walked in on maybe 9 pitches. Buck Futter in to mop up, but now it's 8-1.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

I'm watching the NFL Draft for the duration. Especially after last night's debacle.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

Between last summer and tonight, I'm done with Zach Reininger. He can go back to Toledo now. I think I'd rather have Zimmerman and his balky elbow instead.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

VerHagen for Reninger. This is like pulling your pecker out of the blender and jamming it in the electric socket.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 10: The Tommy Bridges edition

It's a ****ing miracle that we got out of that with a lead.
