Thanks!! Just when I was praising Direct TV about hockey coverage, I could be facing a midnight face off? Good Lord!!!!

I didn't realize that all these years Gwoz wasn't even a naturalized US citizen until Dec. 7, 2010. Maybe he can teach Christina Aguilera the national anthem. Apparently he can't sing it though...claims he got hit with a puck in the throat in college.:D

Friday's game is not live on any channels and is being tape delayed on 3 Fox channels.

FSN RM - Tape delayed at 12PM ET, 11PM CT, 10 PM MT, 9PM PT

FSN North and FCS Central - Tape delayed at 10PM ET, 9PM CT, 8PM MT, 7PM PT

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

Jay Barriball was a no show at practice on Thursday, so he's probably out for tonight's game. He's the Gopher's leading scorer, but he actually doesn't score much. That leaves us with scoring threats like Eric Haula who has one point in the last 10 games, and Jacob Cepis who hasn't scored a goal since New Years Eve. Our other scoring phenom is Mike Hoeffel, he's got 2 goals in 2011. Should be an interesting weekend.

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

Split.

And I have a feeling that we'll get 3 points, if only to pull the on-the-fencers back on the bandwagon.

Yes, I'm being humble and nice.

Hmm... 3 points would definitely help give the bandwagon a nice push.

Brutal!!! Are we going to do the score update thread live or should we tough it out and wait 'till it's on TV?

That pretty well sums it up.

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

Here is the list of "can't miss" shows on FSRM during the the live Denver vs. Minnesota game: In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Big 12 Showcase, Buffalo Stampede, the Game 365, and Boxing (featuring two tomato cans I've never heard of). Oh the humanity!

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

And on FSN we are tape delayed because of the Timberpuppies who no one cares about. :(

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

Really? No one is responding in this thread to that game? That was a great clash. Brittain played like Cheverie-reincarnate, and so did Patterson. Denver's first goal was a fraud and clearly a high stick. Who knows what would have happened in OT, but that game should have been 1-1 at the end of regulation. Frustrating way to lose tonight, but the Gophers have nothing to hang their heads about from that game. Great effort. Hopefully we sneak a few by Brittain tomorrow night to get the split so that Denver stops dominating us.

Perhaps, the lack of comments comes from the lack of Live Video. To me, both Denver and Minny media get at "Fail" for live coverage. The broadcast that us Denver fans heard was Jay Stickney's live radio broadcast and his comment for the goal you mentioned, was that it was controversial. Tough to overturn since it was called a goal on the ice. I haven't seen it. Like I said in the scoring thread, I reserve my take until I see. it. It is no surprise to me that you said Patterson played a great game nor that these two teams played a great game. Tomorrow, I hope DU spoils Minny Hockey Day. We shall see...

I'm watching the game now on tape delay, and admittedly it looked like the shot was deflected off of D. Shore's stick which appeared to me to be high, from a camera that was overhead. To me? Probably should have been disallowed. But, DU would have won anyway in OT, so you Goofers at least got a bit more rest. :D

I had to go out halfway through the second period so I didn't catch anything from that point on. Even if it was 1-1, I don't have any confidence in the Gopher's scoring ability to speculate a possible W. The Gophers outshot DU 37-30, had lots of scoring chances and 6 golden PP opportunities to bury the puck.

But once again they showed everyone why they've landed in 8th place. Without a doubt the Gopher's perennial enigma for the last 3 seasons has been they simply can't bury their chances. If 5 straight losses to DU and a home record below .500 doesn't hang a few heads, they might as well quit and play adult pickup hockey at Braemar.

Gophers got a goal called off that looked exactly the same as this one did on Video (I think against tUMD actually last weekend). I don't really care, it's just another thing that doesn't matter anymore.

After watching the broadcast after the actual game was done it did look like the DU goal should have been called a high stick, but good teams overcome things like that and find a way to score another goal. We didn't last night and haven't for much of the last few years which is why we are in the position we are now. The Gophers actually looked pretty good and were moving there feet and creating scoring chances but they can't bury the puck when needed.

Congrats to Denver you seem to always be at the top of the WCHA even with players leaving early graduating etc... also Zucker has some wheels I hope he leaves the program today to go pro. ;)

Happy Hockey Day Minnesota

Go Gophers!

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

Yet another game where MN goes toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the country, and comes up just short.
They just seem to lack 1 or 2 natural goalscorers who can find the back of the net.

For the majority of the game MN controlled the tempo and had an edge in possession, territory, shots and scoring chances. This was evidenced by the overwhelming advantage in PP's that MN had. If they could have executed on the PP they would have won.

Denver did have a number of 1-0 breaks, but DU has always been one of the best at turning routine little plays into those types of situations. And MN did well to recover on them, only allowing 1 of those opportunities to become a clean break and always winning the race for the 2nd man in on the rebound.

Blah. It's a shame. This team is much better than last years, but they are lacking a bit in offensive punch, and have started playing quality hockey just a little late. I will say, however, that they are going to be a very tough team to play comes play-offs.

Re: Denver @ MN: Dasher Dancer Takes on Dapper Don!

Don't think DU played their best game last night. They seemed a lttle confused or a bit off. Wonder whether Kyle Ostrow's absence and line changes played a part? Jackson and Nutini are the last 2 captains standing and they need to fill the void and be on ice leaders.

Brittain was amazingly strong last night!
