Denver @ Minnesota 2/11/11

Re: Denver @ Minnesota 2/11/11

Kill goes 5-5! Just got word that the name of the hockey festivities up there tomorrow have been changed to Sweep Day! Hell of a night for the PWR Yale and UNH both fall and Duluth. Tough night for Bulldogs. DU should move up to 2nd or 3rd in the PWR.

Up to #3 in PWR right now

Re: Denver @ Minnesota 2/11/11

With UND game final DU is tied for 4th in PWR with UMD but ranked ahead of them for seeding purposes. Only game still being played is CC/MSUM which has the Mavs winning 2-0 at the end of 2.

Re: Denver @ Minnesota 2/11/11

You mean Finland isn't in Minnesota?
You mean nobody gives a **** about this save for a tiny ignorant minority of the fans?

With the way some of you idiots jump on this, you'd think you guys had never heard of Vanek.

Re: Denver @ Minnesota 2/11/11

Can someone explain to me why that Denver goal was allowed even after it was reviewed? Clearly a high stick. Minnesota got hosed on that.

Re: Denver @ Minnesota 2/11/11

It was allowed because it was a legal goal, silly. Are you really a UAA whiner fan?

Either that, or more likely, because the league restricts the refs to the overhead view, the high stick wasn't on the camera, and the ref out by the blue-line didn't have the guts to inform his partner that he screwed up royally.

[EDIT:] just saw the behind the net view, and that's exactly what happened. A blatant high-stick, but since it was out between the face-off dots, it didn't show up on the overhead camera.

LOL, Admittedly I only heard the Denver Homer call of the goal since you guys in Minnesota seem to love your Timberwolves hoops team. So, I shall reserve judgement until I see it on the tape-delayed re-broadcast. Still, it was called a goal on the ice and it remained a goal. I think the Golden Gophers issues run much deeper than one "controversial goal" in just one game in a long season. But, we shall see. Please do enjoy "Hockey Day" in Minnesota when DU sweeps your ***. Ya do have the Wild!

Oh yee of short memories and limited intellect. For many years the gophoids refused to play DU because we used "foreigners." That's why it's ironic that their only goal tonight was scored by a "foreigner." If there's anyone around here who's ignorant, it's you, bub. Do try to keep up.

I already knew about this. It happened decades ago, and many on this site weren't even alive when it happened. So its relevance to tonight's game for the majority of the people watching/paying attention is ... zero. That's why the "omg a foreigner scored MN's only goal tonight!!!1!!!!" reaction I saw in this thread seemed rather random at best, and tragically behind the times at worst.

Maybe ironic to those that think MN just now ended its reliance on MN-only players, but to the rest of us on planet earth who know something about the program, it's hardly news.

So because you are stuck in the distant past, I should be as well and should magically understand every bitter remark uttered by your fanbase out of left field? What are you, Denver's answer to Happy?

I get it, just air brush the mighty University of Minnesota Golden Garden Pests hiding under the bed to avoid getting their butts kicked repeatedly and covering it up with a thick blanket of hypocricy, out of the picture. Perhaps no one will remember what arrogant phonies you were--and still are. It's you who seems to be stuck in the distant past, when Minnesota had an elite program. Not no more.

Everything goes in cycles. The next cycle will be when Minnesota and Wisconsin leave the WCHA.
