No. 9/10 Denver (20-11-4, 15-8-4 WCHA) closes the regular season at Nebraska Omaha (14-15-6, 11-11-5 WCHA) tonight. Puck drop is set 6:07 p.m. MT on Saturday at CenturyLink Center Omaha (15,959). No TV for this game. The game will be webcast on www.B2LiveTV.com and can be heard on Denver's Sports Station 102.3 ESPN and on Pioneer Vision at www.DenverPioneers.com. Live blog can be found at www.DenverPioneers.com and national scores can be accessed on www.WCHA.com.

I'm pretty positive that UNO is going to come out stronger tonight than they did last night. But I also think that if DU comes out like they did last night, they will still be fine. It will be interesting to see how Brittain plays after a weak outing last time out.

Here's a total surprise. Evidently I've stepped on my Johnson again. After making a BFD about the pronunciation of JZ's last name, someone advised me on the blog that he, in fact, asks that his last name be pronounced "zooker."

Those of us old enough may remember Heisman trophy winner Tony Dorsett's name was pronounced "DOR sett" during his college career. But then it became "dor SETT" in the NFL. So "zooker" it is, evidently, and another black mark on my permanent record.

As I recall, at the WJC JZ said his family said Zooker, but at DU he had always been Zucker. What I want to hear is:
Jason Zooker/Zucker S-C 0000000000 R-E!!!

I believe I heard Gwoz say Knowlton was injured last night, nothing serious.

Jay just said Knowlton has a lower body injury.

Gwoz on pre-game said Chris has been battling this injury the past few weeks and needs to rest it.

DU_Athletics: Zook-ur like looker is the correct pronunciation, but Jason wants to be called Zucker like trucker because Zook-ur gets confused like Zuke-ur.

The relevant question here is if a bunch of doddering alums can get to the bottom of this, why can't NBC's announcers? They have production assistants you know. "Hey, kid, go get me the list with DU's pronunciations."

Once I was doing PBP for Port Arthur Jefferson yellow jackets basketball (Bum Phillips coached there). And I asked a kid for the team they were playing for a list of the numbers of his team. And that's what he brought back: a list of numbers. He handed me a piece of paper which said "1, 5, 17 etc." In a rare display of patience, I asked him if he could provide the names, too.

Faulkner in goal instead of Belfour as Eddie's son overslept this afternoon and reported late to the rink.

Remember when Dick Allen missed the opener of a Phillies' double header? His excuse was he didn't realize they were playing two that day!
