It's a permanent fund dividend. Basically, us Alaskans get a check for roughly $1,000 that is a share of state revenue from resource development. As you can imagine, when everyone gets their PFD, a bunch of stores have sales.

Sort of like New Year in Japan. Everybody gets three month's worth of bonus. Nobody works (except retail) and the smog clears away from Fujiyama for the only time of the year.

What has happened to Kane LaFranchise? IIRC he was off the team (or out of school) with academic problems. But was readmitted. What happened to him?

Alaska spanking the Irish 5-2. If that holds it should be good for us in the PWR. I hope we go down to the cement toilet next weekend and clinch the pan.
