Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

It looked to me like he turned to hit him and lifted his right arm up including his elbow which hit Jesse. It doesn't matter either way as it was a 5 minute for intent to injure which it clearly looked like he was doing. I don't think Malone is a dirty player and in fact DU recruited him.

I don't know if it's clear that he wanted to injure but really what matters is Jessie Martin ends up being alright and no serious injury.

Bacher went down to locker room area to check on Martin. He has been transported to the hospital to be checked out. No other word.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Live chat on Brads Blog is saying Martin is ok, he got knocked the F out and was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. But they are reporting he is ok.

That's a relief, thanks. We've advanced past the days of "take two aspirin and skate it off," but that modern professionalism in giving that first aid can make a pretty bad situation look like the end of the world. I think I'll have another drink.

The only problem I have is I don't think they were calling a penalty until they realized Martin was hurt.

Like I said, it reminded me of the TJ Oshie hit on Dustin Brown last year, only difference was brown got up.

Penalty was for charging which suggests that he took more than 2 steps to hit him. Anyway, 3rd period is underway with DU leading 1-0 with 18 minutesl left in 3rd.
