In addition to Juho Olkinuora starting at goaltender, all of Denver's forward lines and defensive pairings have been changed. Drew Shore centers Jason Zucker and Matt Tabrum on DU's top line, while Nick Shore centers Jarrod Mermis and Ty Loney on the second line. Shawn Ostrow centers Zac Larraza and Dustin Jackson on the third line. Daniel Doremus and Luke Salazar are DU's fourth line forwards. Denver's defensive pairings are John Ryder and Scott Mayfield, Paul Phillips and Josiah Didier, and Joey LaLeggia, John Lee and David Makowski.

Interesting. Coach is in full-on "Gwoz-mode"...A very talented team, yet has felt the need to address the team from the ice, pull the goalie quite early in the next game and do wholesale line changes for the following game. Definitely shows that Gwoz isn't comfortable with the team's attitude at this point. Seriously, I haven't seen this level "Gwozness" in quite a few years, especially this early in the season. I think he knows he may have something special but needs to lay down the "Law of Gwoz" at this point.

Tabrum actually shows a ton of enthusiasm and effort while on the ice...I think him being promoted so high is just a part of Gwoz' process and message -- rewarding effort while downgrading the lack thereof (Salazar).

Junior Drew Shore (3-5=8) has a five-game point streak to start the season. Junior defenseman Paul Phillips (1-3=4) tallied his first career goal last night and has one point in four of five games this season.
Ty Loney (0-1=1) tallied his first career assist last night and Joey LaLeggia (3-2=5) leads WCHA rookie blueliners with three goals. LaLeggia and Zac Larraza (0-2=2) have two-game point streaks.

Rookies are playing hard to get ice time.

Re: Denver at MTU - Saturday 10/29/11

Who is the back up keeper?
Last night Bacher said Salazar was the emergency
Guess we should wait and see if Murray is dressed.
Gwoz said Adam was trying to talk him into playing tonight.

Exactly. To me, the question of Gwoz "embarrassing" his team was moot. They did a pretty good job of that themselves.
