Denver at MTU - Friday - 10/28/11

Re: Denver at MTU - Friday - 10/28/11

So instead of trying to rally the troops when they were down 4-1, he instead buried them. Yeah...that's great leadership.

You are talking out of ignorance for as to how DU's season has gone so far. The team's attention to defensive hockey has been a problem this season to date. And Gwoz has tried to address this from our opening exhibition games until now. Even last week, with a 7-0 lead at the beginning of the 3rd, the team once again started taking stupid penalties. Gwoz called a timeout and and stood on the ice in front of the team and lambasted them. They did better after that, but tonight DU buried themselves again by taking stupid penalties. The 4-1 score of which you speak was certainly aided by DU spending time in the box yet again. So, yeah, it's good leadership to pursue a way to get it through the team's collective thick skull that playing hockey the right way is important.

That's not an excuse. What Gwoz did tonight was wrong. Sorry.

On a side note, G-I-L-L-I-G-A-N spells Gilligan. And that guy owes me money. (was looking for a Grim Reaper icon, but no banana).

No, your thoughts are wrong. Sorry.

I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of people would disagree with you. I realize that you and the rest of the DU fans have a big hardon for Gwoz. But take a second and THINK.

Re: Denver at MTU - Friday - 10/28/11

OK. So you just don't understand how a championship-level coach operates. Sorry for that.

So I want to get this out in the open. You guys are OK with Gwoz publicly embarrassing your team. I want you to re-post that exactly. Say "I am happy with Gwoz humiliating his players to prove a point."

I could give a rat's arse what the vast majority of people think, I'd be more curious as to what other top level hockey coaches think. Fans are stupid - look at Tebowmania. Vast majority of people... Give it a rest.

No one with a brain puts any stock in Tim Tebow. He blows.

I'm not a big fan of what Gwoz did either. That's just silly. If it works, fantastic. But come on, that's like throwing a hissy fit.

Now I'm picturing George curled up into the fetal position in the toy aisle at Target crying for the new GI Joe toy.

I don't know, but my point is that only uncommon people do great things. The common coach probably wouldn't do what Gwoz did, but Gwoz isn't a common coach bases on his accomplishments. I don't have a hard-on for Gwoz, but what the man has done with his teams here in Denver definitely lead me to give him the benefit of the doubt. And you and a couple of others' opinions, especially since you are so far removed from the program, don't really matter as they are so fn uninformed. Want me to give you an uninformed critique of your coach/program? Just say the word...

So Lucia has done that?
How about Blais?
York?
Parker?

It has nothing to do with "championship level coaches," it's just Gwoz.

Tell me all about how our defense is too young and our positioning stinks. At least Motzko isn't going to make his own guys look like idiots. Also, you didn't say what I asked you to say. Say "I am happy with Gwoz humiliating his players to prove a point."

No, I'm just saying this. "Gwoz is taking a risk based on his experience. And, Gwoz and I are way more smart than your dumb ***." That's all I'm saying.

Re: Denver at MTU - Friday - 10/28/11

I've been reluctant to get involved here, since the opinions from the peanut gallery don't amount to much. Most of the people criticizing Gwoz would need an instruction manual to wipe their arses. I think his point was they had already humiliated themselves against a team punching well above its weight. A team that had been handling them all night long. I hope and expect a little more intensity tomorrow. If not, then we've got far bigger problems than 3 ENG's.

Remember what Hackman said in "Hoosiers?" "My team is on the floor."

Yeah um... Tech's in for a fun night tomorrow. Hopefully they keep DU to single-digits on the sscoreboard.
