By the way Old Pio, I have a foot plus snow outside so no need for man made ice this weekend for Crown Royal, the official drink of the Russian WJC Gold Medal Team.

Fedex about a ton of that stuff to me. It's been a gorgeous week here. What the snowbirds come for. We're old enough to remember a time when if a bunch of Russian kids acted up like that, they'd be "reassigned" to Siberia.

The Russians (not necessarily the players) used to steal as much equipment while here in the US back in the old days because theirs was such crap. I know DU went missing some sticks and such at the Broadmoor one time.

I recall the Russians refusing to dress at the Broadmoor World Arena, evidently they did it at the hotel.
And I remember how impressed I was by a drill they used to do with their goalie, Viktor Konavalenko. He'd have a catching glove on either hand. And they'd just bombard him from the blue line. I mean seriously put the wood to him.
I also remember them scoring twice, short handed, ON THE SAME DU PENALTY. 'Course after that game DU went undefeated for the rest of the season and rolled to the NC 4-0 over UND on the teeny tiny ice at the DECC.
